My point here isn't to point fingers at one side or the other. I think these are some pretty sick threads just by the thread title and thus a ghetto. A place you don't want to leave your car.
You sound like a sore loser whom has a bad case of "Sour grapes" The Obama supporters are doing no less than the republicans on this board were doing before the nitty gritty began, or am I wrong? I guess I could drudge up some of the posts that were running rampant and wild against Senator Clinton and Obama before that idiot of a VP Palin decided of her own accord to open her mouth and let alone air out her dirty family laundry as well as political indiscrepencies! Do not be sour because you are left with bad taste in your mouth!
I suggest you be assertive instead of asking board democrats to point out the obvious that you spend your precious time writing your state rep "What the hell was McCain thinking when he appointed this idiot VP!" I suggest you take matters into your own hands and start asking questions of your own party on who dropped the ball!
But please do not refer to this site as a ghetto because your candidate is losing that doesn't say much for you now does it?

Hey, Folks.

Both of the presidential candidates with their running mates are no good.
American would rather have a person for president whose ---

1) church he has joined for 20 years has been preaching anti-America and anti-white

2) book he has written has anti-white all over it. Yes, it is not unusual to hate part of your own race.

3) running mate seems like an alcoholic, obnoxious, loud and rowdy bully.

4) definition of patriotism is not really the definition of patriotism
McCain: Patriotism is 'putting the country first' before all else
Obama: Patriotism means 'faith in one another as Americans'

These demons are going to creep on that person. What will happen to this country with a president that has a history of listening to anti-American and anti-white preachings? It appears to me that he will be shaking hands with all the anti-American and anti-white countries/leaders and say, "Hey, Brother. We are together on this now."

Tell me the truth, why does this anti-white and anti-American guy want to be the President of the United States? What has he done in his past to help the United States?

I just see him as a self-serving me me me. He promises you this and that without taking into account that it takes more than one person to fulfill his agenda. America latches on to promises and change because America by nature is greedy and will believe anyone who says it will make them better.

I think, either way America is screwed. America did itself in for being greedy. I just think that America will be heading towards corruption and chaos. The American people will no longer be patriotic by McCain's definition. The American people will be patriotic by Obama's definition which means that if the American people believes in self-survival, they will now only trust their belief and think about themselves and not the country which means that corruption will ensue and will cripple America.

Look me in the eye and tell me straight...

Why does Obama want to be president of the United States?

Why does McCain want to be president of the United States?

With Obama's definition of patriotism and his anti-American tendencies (see http://ztruth.typepad.com/photos/unc...eak_fry_08.jpg ), I fear a widespread disease among Americans in the near future with Obama as president, corruption.

When it is time for me to vote, I will write the following words under the VOTE FOR PRESIDENT section....

"DO OVER!"

It is too risky to choose any one of these two candidates for president. We need to do this over again and select better candidates for Presidency.

The Democrats are doing very well in public opinion, mass-media, the polls, this forum... Congratulations. You seem to have to upper hand for sure.

You're winning. You'll probably take Florida soon, and that'll be it in my opinion.

Obama and Biden! They'll probably win the 08 Presidential Election! Congratulations in advance.

So maybe you can start acting like it. What I mean by that is I challenge you to stop the smearing and rubbing it in and start telling us what you think your candidates will do for us. What can we look forward to? When will we start to notice a change for the better and in what ways specifically?

Maybe I could start to at least peek in on and read some of these threads again; not bashing Obama's race or religion... or Sarah's IQ or McCain's age or temper.

Something positive for a change. What do ya say? I always try to bring things back with humor. Can't that be done here as well?
There's no guarantee who will win. Ohio votes early today, I think (?) And if McCain carries Ohio, I look forward to observing your friendly reaches across the aisle

The debates/economy must have stirred everyone up.
I'm sure it'll die down... well, not tomorrow.

My crystal ball says:
- during the time leading up to our troops leaving Iraq, I'd expect he'll be talking with Europe to try and rustle up support for Afghanistan.
- I'm sure he'll meet Putin and look deep in his eyes. wtf is in there?
- Save, save, save... or not - likely depends how the economy is acting, maybe he'll find money to throw at alternate energy research and development.
- I expect lower wage workers up through middle class to have a bit more spending money, much of it going right back into the economy
- I hope for a renewed interest in innovation. I like being the first country to do things.

It is. TnHillTopper does his best as moderator, but it's a bit more free-wheeling here, as it should be.

But I don't understand why or how you see it as a predominantly leftie scene.
Believe me, McGowdog, the Obama trashing has been going on for months upon months. I'm not talking about courteous, well-thought-out posts with citations. I'm talking about fearful paranoids posting outright lies and smears and hearsay.
Do a Search of, let's say, "Obama Muslim" and check out what you dredge up.
It is not pretty.

I do think the tide turned a bit when Sarah Palin was selected as VP nominee.
This really blew a lot of minds (on both sides).

McCain has said its personal ambition
Quote:
"I didn't decide to run for president to start a national crusade for the political reforms I believed in or to run a campaign as if it were some grand act of patriotism. In truth, I wanted to be president because it had become my ambition to be president. . . . In truth, I'd had the ambition for a long time." (Worth Fighting For, by John McCain).
And Obama?
I get the impression, he wants America to be better/greater/faster/bionic.

I stopped reading many posts and replying to threads. This forum has become so childish.

Excellent post. I agree, this forum has really hit rock bottom. It's almost impossible to have an intelligent discussion here. Most people are content to treat politics as a sport. The conversation is the type you'd expect from two trash talking, insecure couch potato football fans who root for opposing rivals.

I don't want to blame the mods. I'm sure they are doing the best they can. There probably just needs to be more of them.

Why does Obama want to become president?

I believe he wants to help the Americans. He has public communication, organization, political skills, vision, and emotional intelligence. He is good man and he wants to help us in any way that he can!
Answer

As the most liberal/progressive member of the senate, he wishes to "change" America. He believes America should emulate Europe in many aspects such as socialism. He wants to have socialized medicine and education. This he plans to pay for by taxing "the rich" and raising the capital gains tax and death tax.

One of Obama's desires is to quit the war in Iraq and bring troops home. Although a consistent position, it has become criticized as the surge is generating the same results.

Because they are both POWER HUNGRY. Obama is more power hungry and I think that is pretty dang obvious. He wants to change America. He seems to want to make it his.
