That's disgusting!! Giving a meal to a homeless person - how dare they! In fact, I don't think anyone should be allowed to vote unless they make at least $100k per year.

Oh and you "HEARD" that illegal immigrants are voting in Ohio? Any source for that? I've "heard" that Republicans are trying their best to stop legal voters from exercising their right to vote.
Great post! Inside the booth only the voter knows how he/she voted. The richest nation in the world and we have so many people across the country living in poverty.

I heard that they can vote....this campaign makes me think certain people in this country do anything to win and have their candidate win this election which makes it IMO a fraudelent election.

In other countries only people who have identification papers and an address can vote. This to prevent fraud. People get their voting cards send to their address (or you have to give notice that you are away and they will send it to another address if you have proof) to avoid fraud.

In Florida the laws have changed and convicted felons can vote but only the non violence one, so who can proof that the homeless who have no identification are who they are and aren't convicted felons convicted on murder, etc....

If the Dem. take them on a bus to get them to the voting precinct, what else are they giving them to get their vote? Food, money, etc, what does it cost for the Dem. to get that vote?
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

When someone asks me where I am from, I reply "Ohio" because that is where I spent most of my adult life and received my advanced education at Ohio State University. It wasn't all that long ago that I moved away from Ohio so I am pretty familiar with the requirements to meet in order to vote.

As far as the "homeless" voting, the only question I have is how they meet the requirement:

"You will be a resident of Ohio for at least 30 days immediately before the election in which you want to vote".

When registering to vote, exactly what residence are these people noting? That is the reason they are termed homeless.... they have no home, no residence. I am just curious how many of these people have the EXACT SAME ADDRESS .... on their voter's registration form.

I know that when I registered to vote in Ohio I had to show proof of physical residence. For several years I voted absentee ballot for the state of Ohio and I still had to show proof of residence.

In no way am I suggesting these unfortunate people should not be able to vote .... I am just wondering how they get around the proof of residence issue.

Newsflash: No one, repeat, NO ONE can go into a voting booth with the voter. He is in there alone. By himself. El esta solo. No one can see who he is voting for. No one can pull the lever for him. He can vote for WHOEVER HE WANTS TO.

Can't one be homeless and have a shelter for an address? I think there are many programs available to give these folks a way to get any social security or medicare checks... Also a place to use when registering children for school. So, if a homeless person lives out of a car, they probably have a license.. that license has to have an address... a church? a shelter? A little bit of your higher education ingenuity at work here could solve that problem, don't you think?

Shelly

P.S. and I know it is hard to think of it, but yes there are homeless folks out there that have lost jobs, have kids and live in their cars and go from church to church for subsistance... A little compassion in this world will go a long way.....

Most of these posts about "homeless" voting are hearsay. Are there any links to back up these statements?

Well DUH. But you are more likely to vote for the candidate someone wants you to vote for if you are hungry and they gave you a meal and took you to the polls.

In exchange for a vote - yes, it most definitely IS disgusting. It's in essence BUYING their vote.
