Journalism with an emphasis in broadcast news.

Actually I think she's to be commended for not giving up on college even though she's not exactly the deep-thinker type. So she didnt go to college to broaden her intellectual horizons, many people don't. Five colleges shows a lot of determination to me.

That said.... yes, she should have listed some newspapers, any newspapers.

In her final answer to "what news sources do you use?" she managed to throw in the phrase "Alaska is like a microcosm of America." without naming a single news source. I am surprised she didnt call McCain a maverick in that answer as well.

She's looking more like GW Bush everyday. Doesn't read newspapers or news mags because they represent the "reality based" world.

Yes, lots of people spend 7 years in college.

They're called DOCTORS.

The reason she did not list any newspapers or magazines is because even if she says that she reads the "The Wall Street Journal" or Newsweek magazine, she will be laughed at.
So she played it safe because she knows it is a stupid question meant to be asked to a child.

In other words, stupid questions get stupid answers. It just made Couric look like an idiot because she refused to answer her stupid question.

She could have easily said, "What the effing type of stupid question is that? Are you effing kidding me?"

The trick is to make it look like the person who is asking you the question is the most stupid person for asking that question.

No, it's because her handlers have made her scared to death to say anything. She's afraid if she say Time or Newsweek or US News, etc. it will be the wrong answer. She doesn't realize that the only wrong answer is the non-answer she gave. They have really screwed with her mind.

That response was so embarassing or should have been for her. I was truly surprised. I still wonder did she realize what she was getting into.
