I was listening to Shawn Hannity (the very Conservative Radio Talk Show Host) yesterday (Wednesday) and he had Governor Palin on. It was very interesting. She sounded very well and it came off effectively.

Of course it was all a set up. It was like two actors in a play. She had been given the questions in advance and she replied in talking points that were designed to make it seem like she was quite informed. The whole thing was scripted and canned questions and answers.

During the Vice Presidential Debate the Palin camp has anticipated all the questions and she has scripted answers. So the average person who does not realize this will assume she did just fine. They will like her smile and pretty face. There will be many people who will fall in love with her shoes and nice glasses. Never overestimate the intelligence of Americans.

By the same token, underestimating the intellect of those who are engaged and paying attention to the campaigns would be a dumb mistake. Millions will vote next month on the thinnest of premises. Millions more will have taken the time to inform themselves on the issues.

Those who see Sean Hannity as a journalist are not capable of even the most basic analysis. They're simply letting Hannity play to their prejudices.
