I'm kind of curious on the priorities you find the most important for our country. In the first presidential debate, we had Obama and McCain asked due to the economic situation which plans they would cut that they originally had planned for when they were president. Obama seemed to show that his #1 priority is our dependence on foreign oil and oil in general. Secondly, making health care affordable for all working citizens. McCain showed that his top 2 priorities are defense and caring for our vets.

EDIT: (Yeah, I was thinking about including "ECONOMY". I was thinking about the question asked at the presidential debate, where they were basically saying what would they do after fixing the economy. It seems like to the person who asked the questions showed that was a given, that the economy was to be priority. I would like to hope that would always be a given for a president. haha. Of course, we have seen that isn't always the case.)

What is your #1 priority in general if you had to choose only one? (ANSWER IN THE POLL ABOVE)

1.) Affordable Health Care
2.) Defense/War on Terror
3.) Dependence on Oil
4.) Global Warming
5.) Caring for our vets
6.) Abortion
7.) other (explain)

Defense; OK, he's never met a defense contractor, or their lobbyists, that he didn't love.

Caring for vets??? This is why he voted against the GI Bill. Get serious.

Too many people confuse "defense" with "going after terrorists". People who have a real history with terrorists; Israel, England, France, Germany, to name just a few, KNOW that fighting terrorists is primarily a POLICE/INTELLIGENCE function.

Of course when Democrats point this out they're called "soft on terrorism". Face it unleashing "shock and awe" (recently pointed out by SedDef Gates to be STUPID) gets the base excited and gets the votes. Having Mossad or CIA agents, or drones ACTUALLY DOING SOME GOOD gets no headlines. Hence it's very unpopular with politicians who need a war to cover up their complete ineptitude.

I'm sorta stunned that there haven't been any votes yet for the WAR ON TERROR or GLOBAL WARMING because that's all they talked about last presidential election. haha.

Since I had to pick just one, I chose "limiting our dependence on oil" since it encompasses national security, global warming, food security and the economy.

the economy is the most important. our debt to china is a larger threat to our national security than terrorism.

I voted 'other'. I think the economy is the most important thing at this time. All the other issues become irrelavant when you are homeless because you can not afford your mortgage payments anymore.
