How does John McCain "know how to win wars"? I've heard this lie repeated by both McCain and heard Palin say it at least TWICE in the debate, but John McCain being a POW in Vietnam does not mean that old geezer knows anything about "winning wars"

If she had of said "John McCain knows how to START wars" I would agree with her, as this man was cheering for the invasion of Iraq only days after 9/11. After the anthrax attacks of October 2001 McCain blamed them on Saddam Hussein. In December of that same year he stood on an aircraft carrier and said "Next stop Baghdad!"

John McCain can start wars but has never had any plan to either win them, or end them.

Precisely the kind of person we DONT need in the White House.

He knows how to win wars because he has done it. He fought an epic battle with himself in the war of McCain 2000 versus McCain 2008. McCain 2008 won that war.

...and he's a Maverick (who voted with Bush 96% of the time)
...and he's a Leader (whose only leadership experience was 4 years a platoon training leader in peacetime)
...and he's not part of the Elite (although he has 18 houses and is married to a millionaire)

Come on.

Yep - he can start them just fine.

"I know how to win wars," that's a line McCain tried out for a little while. He stopped using it a couple of weeks ago, just trailed off...

The "put two mavericks together and gosh, ya never know what's gonna happen!" (or - paraphrase) was used by McCain in the Katie Couric interview when they appeared as a father-daughter team.

Mc Cain knew how to win the Vietnam War. I think, he forgot to share it with other people.

The reason we are winning in Irak is because of McCain.
