Jonathan Martin's Blog: RNC shatters monthly fundraising record - Politico.com

Quote:
The RNC raised nearly $66 million in September, breaking its all-time record.

Committee spokesman Alex Conant credited the haul to the strength of John McCain and Sarah Palin.

The figure is a reminder that, despite her recent slip-ups, Palin injected an extraordinary boost into the GOP grass roots.

The next best month for the RNC was in October of 2000, when they raised $43 million.
Isn't it nice that McCain can concentrate on stumping and campaigning? Obama, on the other hand must do that and fundraise as well - he needs to bring in about $3 Mil a day to keep pace with the reps. That should be no problem, considering the under $200 contributions that are untracable, and which account for 1/2 of the money he has raised.

And plus having to pull out of Michigan will save them some cash.
