Who did you connect with the most tonight (NOT who won the debate) - Palin or Biden?

As far as who I agreed with more during the debate, that's easy...Biden.

But regarding who I personally identify with and feel more connected to...neither. One is a 65-year-old male who's been in the national political arena for 35 years, while the other is a redneck religious zealot "hackey mom" from a state about a million miles from where I live. Neither one of them is very similar to me religiously, morally, experientially, occupationally, or life-situationally. I don't even pretend to know as much about politics, government, legislation, or policy as Senator Biden, but at the same time, never in my life have I said "you betcha," "doggonit" or "nucular" and I'm not in the habit of winking and flirting my way to the top.

Neither one of them is anything like me (thankfully, although I do hold much respect for Biden), and I don't think either one of them particularly understand my personal challenges, per say.

I have to agree with Politico as far as who relates to me. Neither of them really do. However, I agree w/ McCain's policies more than w/ Obama's so I guess that means I vote for McCain. (I liked Ron Paul's policies and insight better than Obama's or McCain's).

Palin needs to cut out the "folksy" crap. I find it irritating. Not insulted by it but I don't think it is getting her the respect she is seeking.

Did anyone watch the debate on CNN? They had the polling screen on the bottom- everytime she got folksy or used the word "maverick" her approval numbers tanked.

She's hiding some intelligence behind the hockey mom facade. She needs to stop trying to be the average joe and rise above if she wants people to identify with her.

This forum is overall Democratic/Liberal and that would be why the polls show the way they do. There are far too many partisn people who vote party and not truth at all. I am glad that I dislike both of them and will vote third party once again.

I am tired of her trying to be be one of the people. She uses the terms, heck, darn, Joe six pack, etc. in a failed attempt to connect. I have been in a lot of working class bars and I assure you they don't say darn and heck. I find her identifying the average American as "Joe six-pack" offensive. I am sure most Baptists, for one group, would not appreciate it either.
Secondly I find her voice to be as annoying as the scream that comes from a cat that has fallen into a bathtub of water. I find her voice so annoying I had to go into my den with the tv in the living room playing in order to listen to the debate. Her voice is like the sound of fingernails on a chalkboard.
McCain's selection of Palin just proves that there is no fool like and old fool.

Would you rather her curse throughout the debate? Get over it and move on with something of substance to dislike about her.

The annoying voice is just because she is a woman. A woman's voice bothers a lot of men. Just the facts. Go ahead and vote for Obama, your messiah, so we can see this country become even more socialistic.

I definitely did not identify with Palin. I knew she would do ok, however she didn't answer the questions and she was very vague, didn't talk about policy much. But that's beside the point.

Like McCain, I actually liked her less after the debate. I found her to be kind of b****y. I found her cutesy way of communicating condecending and irritating. But I was biased against her before the debates. Seeing Joe reiterates how much I do like him and how much of a true Democrat I really am. I like how he talked about fairness when it comes to paying taxes, that really struck a chord in me. I feel very comfortable with an Obama admin for sure.

The "Joe Six Pack" comments really offended me. Is that Palin's wish for us--to all be Joe Six Packs? I think we should aspire to be better than that. I agree that it should offend the far right base, but it may not. People on both extremes have their minds made up and nothing will change them. I don't believe she moved many independents with her folksy ways. I identified much more with the dignity of Joe Biden. This was a serious debate, a serious moment, and being "one of the guys", winking, and using those folksy terms was offensive.

I didn't like the Joe Six Pack reference. It was too rednecky for me. I have higher expectations for the P and VP. I'm done with Average Joe Pres. It didn't work with Bush, and she reminded me of Bush alot. Not a good thing!
