Of course he understands. Each owner of a small business can earn $250,000 without any tax increase. Could you be more specific?

For those who hate taxes, you're not the only ones! But when you insist on continuing in a $10 billion per month war, then you have to pay the bills you incur. Its irresponsible to cut taxes for people who are not struggling like average Americans and then pass your debts onto future Americans so people like McCain can buy his 8th house.

One not-so-minor detail: What to do with the nuclear waste.

If this country went "green" with a vengeance, it would be NOTHING to create 5 million new jobs. Somebody's got to build and maintain those geothermal, solar and wind systems across our gigantic country. And that's just the industries themselves. Then there's service, manufacturing, etc. MUCH better than creating jobs that end with the oil runs out (not to mention the devastation to the environment).
