If nothing else, ACORN should not get anymore taxpayer funds until they have their house in order.

Agreed?

I believe that ACORN has a bottom line agenda. And that the folks at the top ... just want to keep getting rich on the backs of those they pretend to care about.
What do you think their bottom-line agenda is?

Folks getting rich at the top - they're a nonprofit, the only one who got rich was that one who embezzled that money. They're not exactly Goldman Sachs. I do agree some people in nonprofit management are crooked - UNICEF etc. I dont know enough about ACORN's management or board of directors to know about their crookedosity, but it's probably safe to say not everyone in all their chapters is 100% altruistic.

Taxpayer funds -- ignoring the (Republican) elephant in the room about subsidization, your worry is another example of believing those lying blogs.
Does ACORN Recieve [sic] Federal Funding? / The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now does not apply for nor does it receive any federal grants.

ACORN has had contracts with other nonprofit organizations to perform work on projects which received federal grant support.

ACORN: Federal Funding
ACORN has always been demonized and distorted, long before Obama came along - I really do believe it's because they educate and help poor people, and that truly is threatening to some awful folks. Maybe they do stay in business because people stay poor, but they have done good things. Look at this list - there's stuff you could say is iffy (let's dont fight about the housing thing), but good stuff too.

http://www.acorn.org/index.php?id=27...de/w.txt%3F%3F

ACORN accesses people other groups have no interest in accessing. Like it or not, there are problems that affect the poor community that arent of the residents' own doing. And people do, often, need help. What if there were no ACORN?

try these too - ACORN: The Truth About ACORN | A Detailed History of ACORN

It really is remarkable how easily and how eagerly people will believe the worst about ACORN when they dont know anything about it, or about community organizations like it or the communities they serve. Not you, just... people. It has to make you wonder what they're really expressing -- and why their leaders encourage this rage, and discourage curiosity.

you could go down to an office and see for yourself, or volunteer there. You know, expose the bastards.

Seriously, voter fraud is happening on a widespread and organized scale... The people can't allow this regardless of which candidate is behind it.
This just shows me how seriously our government takes the election process. Far too little honesty invested and hey... just don't get caught.

I think that it is obvious that ACORN had an agenda. After all they were not regestering people to vote republican and pretty much all the fraud uncovered show adistinct bias.
It doesn't matter how many employee's of ACORN were involved. Enough were to discredit the org.
The leadership of ACORN owns this.. They were after all the leaders.

Interesting word....agenda.

As the New York Times discovered in its study, most of the voting fraud cases failed because there was no basis to pursue them, and even the cases which succeeded generally showed bona fide mistakes or misunderstandings, not any sort of fraud.

One can register the man in the Moon. He still has to show up, present his ID, and Vote.

Proof that ACORN employees were registering people to vote in any particular way?

ACORN is a pretty big, multi-state outfit. Why do you say "the leadership of ACORN owns this" if it was never suggested, let alone mandated, from on high?

They're not perfect, but the org is as discredited as it is because the frightened right wing worked triple overtime to discredit them, and Obama, and community organizing ( = waking up the poor folks) generally.
