The endorsement of Bush, my God. McCain pledged at this time to run a "respectful campaign on the issues". So much for his word.

Dubya has not made one joint appearance on McCain's behalf for good reason. Bush's best counsel was to choose a VP whose advice McCain can rely on. McCain went maverick on this one. You betcha!
