It was the DUTY of the CONGRESS to pass this REFORM ACT. PASSING laws is NOT the duty of the PRESIDENT. THAT's the duty of CONGRESS!!!!!!

They haven't called me, either but they did call a friend of mine. It was a half hour full of questions, including specifics about the bailout. She finally asked, "How much longer is this going to take?"
That's the point I have been trying to make. Most Americans are NOT going to sit there and talk to a pollster, especially older people. I'll bet the pollsters get hung up on at least half of the time. Liberals are more likely to sit there and yack on the phone than conservatives are, and the polls reflect that. Many people also do like I do and check their caller ID. If it's not a local number that I recognize I don't even answer it.
That's why the Founding Fathers of this Nation created the Electoral College. So a POPULAR vote WIN by the candidate would not supercede the ELECTORAL numbers.
Those guys knew what they were doing back then eh?
But then, it depends upon one's definition of stupid. For instance, if one is a democratic or a republican, does that make one or the other "stupid" in the mind of the opposition? Or if one is posting all the time on these forums etc like we are, are we more or less stupid??
So the ills of society are wrought: first the media elects our presidential candidates via television and popular soundbites and who "looks" presidential. Then the internet determines who is better suited via gossip, opinion and bias.
