How can anyone draw a comparison between Lincoln and Obama! Do you know who Lincoln was?
I can tell you this: He was not a Socialist! Obama is a socialist who wants to convert our country to socialism. Is that what you want?
It is absolutely disgusting that you would make such an outrageous comparison. Let me guess, you are a product of the government school system (aka "public" schools), and you have learned NOTHING about American history.
I would be very curious to know just what parallel you see between Obama the socialist and Lincoln, the American patriot who believed as our founders did, in the free market and capitalism.
This Obama person, who calls himself "The One", should scare the hell out of every American who loves this country and our liberty.
This guy, simply can NOT be allowed to win.
Someone who thinks we should "spread the wealth around"? That means he thinks it's okay to steal from those who earn, and give it to those who don't! Think about it. That idea is pure socialism!
There are a number of people who will benefit greatly from Lord Obama's redistribution policies. It is understandable that they are excited.

I so love Barack and Michelle's relationship. I so love their relationship with their daughters. It is going to be such a joy to be able to share some of their moments together during the next four, and hopefully eight, years.
You know, I'm confused. Many people have expressed similar sentiments toward Sarah Palin, how she has such a lovely family, she is a wife and a mother, and they can identify with her being into hockey and other sports, like they are ... she is the mom they know down the street, who's kids go to school with her kids.
And, you know what? They are absolutely vilified for these views by people like you, and so much hate toward Sarah Palin comes from their lips.
Why do you think this is? What do you think is the difference? Be specific.
Could it be because Palin is a Republican and a Chistian?
All in all, I think he will be a very successful president and in 2012 will coast to victory against whatever ticket the GOP will come up with, since scanning the political landscape I do no see any particularly strong Republican challengers to go up against an Obama/Biden juggernaut.

Not so fast. we have our Obama:
He is President elect 2012 Senator Bobby Jindal (a true patriot. Not a fake)
getting very tired of this. The poster did NOT read my previous statements. I clarified what I meant, and toned it down. I get real tired of repeating myself for people who are just trying to blindly critisize.
In the event Obama is elected, here's some of my quick thoughts on what an Obama presidency will bring to America:
- A tax plan and economic package somewhat similar to the Clinton Admnistration's. His first term in office will be focusing on the credit crisis, lowering the deficit, 2009 and 2010 will be rough years, with a recovery by late 2010. I think the deficit, however, is likely to increase slightly in the short term, with a subsequent reduction by half around 2016. His overall approach to governance I think will be more of a "Burkean liberal" approach, without sweeping changes but a more gradual, pragmatic, and bottom-up approaches. Temporarily nationalization of our banking system similar to what the British are moving toward.
- Healthcare: By 2010, universal health care legistlation passed. Though less comprehensive than promised.
- A huge New Deal-type investment in alternate energies, public works projects, urban areas, and infrastructure that will create thousands of jobs and spur economic growth. Fairly broad and bold technology initiatives like universal broadband . I really do think Obama will known as a "technocrat/technology" president.
- William Cohen will be SECDEF again.
- "Don't Ask Don't Tell" will be repealed by his 3rd year in office, forcing Republicans into a "cultural war" election in 2012 (similar to Bob Dole vs. Clinton in 1996), which they will ultimately lose.
-Iraqi withdrawl within 16 months.
- I also think he has the potential to become one of our most revered and deeply admired presidents both here (maintaining at a minimum a 52% approval rating at all times) and especially abroad. There will be an immediate and drastic shift in world public opinion toward the United States under an Obama presidency.

OK, there is a person sitting next to you. Pass it to them. You've had enough!
With the dems controlling the entire government, the congress will approve his budget proposal and, being dems, will load it up with tons of new spending and tax increases that they will blame the need for on the previous administration just like they did the last time this happened in '93. You may remember "Bush cooked the books" was the excuse offered when Clinton reneged on his tax plan he promised in the election. He had promised to raise taxes only on the wealthiest Americans (sound familiar?), but when he did the ol' switch-a-roo on the American tax payers, the popular joke became " greats news! I just found out I'm one of the wealthiest Americans".
Since federal funding for education increased by 50% during the GWB years, I doubt more money will go into education. But, since the NEA is in his five, look for a complete break-down of any sort of classroom accountability. Teacher compensation will likely increase while teacher performance tanks. The end result will be a return to social-I'm too lazy to teach-promotion.
"- Healthcare: By 2010, universal health care legistlation passed. Though less comprehensive than promised. "
I don't think he'll be able to get that through a repub Senate and house after the second republican revolution.
The "new deal" sounds great except I can't for the life of me imagine where the money will come from. We're broke thanks to NAFTA and the dems in congress who fought gse reform tooth and nail.
These make-work jobs programs are always a waste of money. Carter had us running around picking up trash and painting fences.
I predict he will make good on his promise to cut and run from Iraq. When we leave, every one who is able to drive a truck full of explosive to an oil field, pipeline or port will do so sending the price of crude over $200/bbl.
After the American voters realize that "change" means the same left wing platform that the dems have always wanted, they will revolt in exactly the same way the did in '94. President Obama will be dragged to the alter just like Clinton was and have his "changes" reversed by the new Newt Gingrich, whoever that becomes. Since Obama is a lying slime rag, he'll take credit for the economic turn around the reversal of his policies brings just like Clinton did.
Oh. yeah! I almost forgot. We have to return to Iraq when gas reaches $9/gal and world hates us more than ever.
