It is really ironic that during the primaries the political cognocenti of the Republican Party swore up and down about how the Clinton campaign had laid down the blue print for defeating Obama and how all the McCain Campaign had to do was to up the ante. Little did anyone know just how much the McCain campaign would take the Clinton campaign model to heart; completely misread the public mood, hire a divisive and incompatible staff, a hands off managerial style by the candidate, and a wild and schizophrenic attempt to find some message, any message, that might find resonance with the American people.

Now that's some kind of schaenfreude.
I guess that McCain didn't get the memo where the Clinton campaign LOST to Obama? Just another example of poor judgement on the part of McCain.

Now this gets a rep point for a great point... AND the use of "schadenfreude."
Such a desperation move would certainly get the talking heads talking. But, he would irritate the few supporters he still has and make the rest of the country even more unsure of him. He and Palin have been the best thing Obama could have hoped for.
If he pulls such a move, who would feel better? Would the conservatives who fled the Ship come paddling back? Or is this yet another attempt to add work for Jacques Cousteau....At this point the ship looks to be on it's way to the depths with the Governor screamin' land ho, and the Senator ignoring the iceberg warnings.....In the end I'm betting Davy Jones wins.

Nautical references--love the images and how appropriate for Columbus Day.
Not the people who got fired, that's for sure. They might want revenge!
