Do you support ACORN and all of the Obama fanatics that beat people up and do physical damage to signs and buildings and such? As much as I hate so much of the rhetoric coming from both sides, Obama asked for some of this because of using the race card from the very beginning of his campaign, way back when he was running against Clinton. He sowed these problems in the first place and now we all to reap what he sowed.

You're fishing with no hook.

Senator Obama didn't "make" Governor Palin say or do anything. She chose the path she has selected, and she isn't the problem....Senator McCain's Judgment is.

Get over it and stop blaming people for what others do. The Obama supporters have been screaming things just as bad and sometimes worse since he started his campaign. You are partisan and that is all. I am so glad that I don't claim either of the idiot candidates. You will soon enough have the United Socialist States of American. I guess you will be happy then.

McCain needed the independent vote. The Rep base was not going to vote Democratic anyway.

New poll confirms this(Poll: Obama Opens 14-Point Lead On McCain, CBS News/New York Times Survey Shows Major Swing Among Independents, Suggests McCain's Strategy May Be Hurting Him - CBS News):
McCain's campaign strategy may be hurting hurt him: Twenty-one percent of voters say their opinion of the Republican has changed for the worse in the last few weeks. The top two reasons cited for the change of heart are McCain's attacks on Obama and his choice of Sarah Palin as running mate.

So, let McCain attack, let wingnuts emphasize Hussain / arab / etc, let Palin talk and the result will be McCain getting burried even deeper. I guess that is exactly where he wants to be now - the McCain strategy apparently is to even let Obama win, run the country for 4 years and then spring a surprise attack 4 years from now to try an capture the next presidency.

Palin is a big part of the problem.

Oh please!!! The powers that be have already chosen the next President and this is nothing but a farce. McCain has to do what he is told to do, just the same as Obama. They both have bosses and the bosses are not us. Get your head out of the sand and see the world what it truly is.

Palin's impact on the Republican ticket is undeniable. Unfortunately for the Republican ticket, the impact is more negative than positive.

Palin was chosen first to create a buzz and get the Obama campaign off the front page -- good move. Second, Palin was picked because of the colossal misjudgment that Hillary supporters would support any female candidate -- bad move, and insulting to women across the political spectrum. Third, Palin was chosen to "excite" the Republican base -- good move, since McCain does little to excite this group. And fourth, Palin, in one of the traditional roles of Vice Presidential candidates, was chosen to be the attack dog (the pitbull with lipstick?) -- bad move, as it has alienated conservative Democrats, moderate Republicans, and independents.

Ultimately, Palin was chosen to help solely with the campaign ... to help McCain win the White House ... with seemingly no thought given to her ability to do the job if elected, and to assume the Presidency if needed. This, more than anything else regarding the Palin pick, shows the kind of horrendous judgement McCain has. He clearly put himself and his desire to win the election at all costs above the good of the country.

Vice Presidential candidates are often chosen with an eye towards the help they can be to the ticket - I don't refute that one bit. In the past, individuals have been picked in part because of the percieved ability to deliver a particular state, or a specific constituency, or "balance" the ticket by bringing a specific set of skills to the campaign and job.

But the overriding factor in the pick of a Vice Presidential candidate is the reality that the person may literally be a heartbeat away from being President. In my view, McCain totally ignored this, and placed his own political ambition far ahead of the best interests of this country.

I agree with the subject line of this thread - Palin is not the problem. McCain is the problem, and the judgment he showed in picking Palin is just one of the reasons the American people will elect Obama.
