I'm also baffled about the talking point on Obama raising taxes for those over 250K a year and those folks saying that they will have to layoff people and go out of business. I saw, I will find the link later, that taxes would increase 3% for folks with incomes over 250k. What's 3% of say 300K? If you have to seriously alter your bussiness since you can't come up with an extra 800 to 900 a month to pay taxes, then you need to really take a look in the mirror.

A vote for Obama means a vote for giving up on the American Dream through hard work.

The Obama people do not have dreams. They do not want to work hard. They just want to receive handouts from the government and they are completely satisfied with this.
What an incredibly ridiculous statement! I'm sick of hearing about the "welfare" and "socialism" that Obama supposedly is in favor of. Do you all really think that working middle class people like my family are going to quit work and all be given checks for doing nothing? Nothing could be further from the truth. You just don't get it at all. You'd rather just watch the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Ya, what an American dream!

Well you also dont get it,
If it is not welfare, then what it is, a FREE $500 check for individuals or a FREE $1000 for families

Meaning they are satisfied with where they are. They don't want to be an executive making $250K a year. They don't want to own a business that makes $1M. They are just satisfied with where they are at.... there are no further big dreams. Or their dreams are not very high. That's it for them until they die.

Any tax credit would be a welcome addition to their paychecks. They won't be complaining because they are not going to work 12-20 hour days to make more than $250K anyhow. That was never part of their dream.

The highlighted above is a personal attack and is a violation. I am probably 3 times more educated than you are.
Everyone can't make over $250,000. Everyone can't be the boss. Some people would rather spend quality time with their family than work 80 hours/week to get ahead. How dare you criticize hard working middle class people for not "dreaming big?"

And, no, you couldn't say the same thing about McCain. Well, I suppose you would and could because you make all sorts of outlandish claims here, but reason wouldn't support it. See, McCain has had a full life and long career -- he could easily quit everything, travel and enjoy himself. He chooses to serve because he has the experience and wisdom to make a difference, NOT BECAUSE HE HAS SOMETHING TO PROVE.

Obama, on the other hand, just unpacked his briefcase in Washington and then decided he needed to be the president even though he clearly doesn't have the experience that the job demands. He doesn't care -- he is ambitious and everything else comes second to that ambition.
Or McCain is just power hungry like a lot of politicians are.

I see these things that gather votes for John McCain:

1. Racism, pure and simple. Probably half of his support. Racism trumps all other emotions. People vote racist even if it will cost them money. With 95% of us getting a better tax deal with Obama, a racist will forego that to vote white. For many years, politicians have played us off against each other, divide and conquer, but not this year. This year we will drive some big nails in the coffin of racism.

2. Party loyalty. No matter how insipid a candidate, some will always vote the party line. Blind faith and intellectual laziness.

3. Misguided patriotism. We ALL appreciate JM's service and suffering, but it does NOT, of ITSELF, make JM presidential material. The GOP has tried to tie themselves to the flag and exclude the DEMs from anything that has any relevance to military service, even though JM voted at least 29 times against the Veterans Administration and voted against the new G.I. Bill that Obama helped to get passed this year.

4. Mouth foaming evango-fascists will never vote DEM and will always vote for any GOP dude *claiming* he hates Roe v Wade. McCain was gently pro-choice for years, that's why Dobson hated him during the primaries. McCain was FORCED to pick Palin to appease the neanderthals on the far right. Single issue politics plays well here, but not for long; major Catholic forces now understand that Roe is here to stay and are re-focusing to reduce unwanted pregnancies or help single moms cope.

5. The ill-informed and poorly educated, who run scared every time they get a stupid email about national health care plans being "socialist." Most of the whiners who cry about creeping socialism have no idea of which they speak; we are NOT taking over the hospitals (or any other "means of production"). We WILL fund private insurers to do the job, nothing really socialist about it.

The OP's question doesn't apply to you, then, does it?
