LOL, this post gave me an interesting thought to ponder...
If you turned off the tv and tried to avoid the news, starting November 4, how long do you think it would be before you found out who won?
And how do you think you'd finally find out?

I'm going to guess you'd know before the next day was through... probably overhearing people talking about it on an elevator.

I found out by shortwave radio two days after Reagan was elected the first time. That was a sad day for me.

LOL I live with 9 people. In a city neighborhood. I suspect I'd know as soon as the country knew TV and Internet or not.

Here is a fun modification which I think the OP intended:
Hypothetically, if you never watched TV, never read the news, never used the internet, never socialized with strangers, and paid everyone off in your family and at your job to NOT tell you who won ...
Then how long do you think it would take for you to be able to tell who won? (policy trickle-down)

You know, no matter how hard you tried I bet you'd overhear someone talking about it. You'd have to go camping in the woods or something if you really didn't want to know... and even then, you'd probably come across some hikers talking about it.

...oh, and if you go camping here in Virginia, you might find out if the wildlife start looking nervous. That's how you'll know Sarah's on her way to DC and she's bringing the moose huntin' gun.

...you just might find yourself as the VP nominee for the Republican Party.
(sorry, couldn't resist)
I think most people would know at some point the next day. Remember Bush vs. Gore and waking up the next morning being surprised it was still going? At least, I was surprised. I think I heard about it at work the next day that counts were still going on.

I already know who will win...it's too late to turn the television off...the debates were already broadcast.
To make this experiment effective, TV's should have been turned off before the debates, IMO

In the case of an Obama win, unborn babies will be heard crying in utero.
