After reading some posts on this board, I was thinking the Dems don't deserve to win.

Palin pick is an example of stimulating the base, winning one battle but losing the war that may cost both the presidency and the Congress.

This was the part I liked the most:

Instead, as Christopher Buckley pointed out in a blog post on thedailybeast.com explaining his departure from National Review, eight years of "conservatism" have brought us "a doubled national debt, ruinous expansion of entitlement programs, bridges to nowhere, poster boy Jack Abramoff and an ill-premised, ill-waged war conducted by politicians of breathtaking arrogance."

Base on some of the comments I have seen on CD and on Mr. Buckley's comments.. I concur the article.

The GOP is painting itself into a small corner. Unless they make a strong effort to return to rationalism, they'll become a niche party of the super rich and the super stupid.

mr. buckley starts with an incorrect assumption when he says that there have been 8 years of conservatism. i guess he does not know the difference between the republican congress and the democratic congress! since he cannot even surmount that distinction the rest of his post is suspect.

the washington post openly supports obama. they have violated any credibility they were struggling to hold onto as a neutral and reputable news source.

anything they say is equivalent to a blog.
