Media Matters - Myths and falsehoods about the purported link between affordable housing initiatives and the financial crisis

This link goes over the true/false items brought up by both Dems & Repubs.

I only list it here because the ACORN postings are so frequent and even tho' I know the Faux News fans won't like it, I hope maybe a few read it.

My hope is that very soon, the neo-cons will realize that ACORN is nothing but a nut...and they - the neo-cons - just might BE nuts

There ya go again FreeSpirited1, looking backwards again.

It is about which is the best to take control now. McCains most likely pick for economic czar, Phil Gramm, is a champion of Wall St, and opposes any regulations, the very reason we are in a recession and still likely to slide into a full blown depression.

I know that most americans think that the Republicans started this mess but Here is a couple of links that you might look at and maybe do some more research on cause they show this all started in 1980 when Jimmy Carter was in office with his Democratic congress. That is when the deregulation happend. the links below are a good start on the research. Also if you lookat the charts at the bottom of the wikipedia site that will tell you who was in control at that time in congress.http://www.subprimelendingcrisis.com...lections,_1980

I am sorry guys but the blame falls with the people that bought houses that they could not afford. This has nothing to do with rich, poor, what race a person is, etc.. If someone is too stupid to understand loans, the possible problems down the road with these creative loans they deserve what they got. Stupid people have no business buying homes they can't afford whether the house cost $80,000.00 or $800,000.00. Just the truth.
