I excused myself to check on "mom". Told him to stick around as I had more questions.

Went back to the kitchen and freshened up my tea. Asked if he needed to use the john.

Finally he said he really had to go. I was really mad that I was only able to waste 45 minutes of his time.

BUT IF EVERYONE DID THIS TO EVERY MCCAIN CANVASSER OR PHONE BANKER we could really make a difference.

BTW, I wasn't wasting my own time, I had already done two shifts for Obama today and was home anyway resting up for some more work tonight.

BTW, my Mom passed away 8 years ago and she was the definitive "Reagan Democrat. But she'd be pretty proud of what I'm doing.

I used to do very similar things to the cold calling pump and dump brokerage houses that would call me trying to pump the latest penny stock. I'd keep em' on the phone for awhile, and tell them something along the lines of "so you've got a good idea for me huh?"
and they'd be all juiced up to see their penny stock scam coming to fruition, and then I'd lay this line on them....."I'll tell you what, I really don't know you, but it sounds like you've discovered a really great opportunity, and I'd really like to get in on it. I've got about $100k I've been looking to put into something, so I'll tell you what; If you send me copies, and you can white out your SS# and address, of your last 3 years tax returns, and I see that you did better than I did in the market for at least 1 of those years, I'll give you the whole $100k to invest in whatever you think is worth it."

The answer was the same evertime.....click!!

They have sort of left me alone since I told them that there were no circumstances whatsoever that would result in my voting for John McCain....and let them know pretty explicity what I thought of his recent behavior.
