A McCain canvasser came knocking today! (party affiliation, vote, thought, Reagan)

Mrs. golfgod is listed with no party affiliation so this guy knocked on my door. I had to move my new Obama HOPE poster out of the hallway and then invited him in.

I told him I needed to get some info about McCain's platform for Medicare for my aged "mother" who is sick in the other room. He babbled on for a few minutes.

Then I excused myself to attend to my sick "mother" in the other room. After a minute I stuck my head out and said, "let me just give her this injection-don't leave".

Then I came out and put on some water for tea or coffee.

Then I speed dialed my home phone from my cell phone, excused myself to answer it, listened for a minute then hung up.

Then I told him that it was a recording from John McCain saying that Barack Obama hangs around with terrorists. I asked if that was true, it was truly "stump the dummy" time.

I excused myself again and got some tea for both of us. And asked some more inane questions about Palin-he didn't know anything except that the "Grand Jury (FTW?) cleared her. I started to point out that he was lying, but thought that might tip him off that I was not a low information voter.

I excused myself to check on "mom". Told him to stick around as I had more questions.

Went back to the kitchen and freshened up my tea. Asked if he needed to use the john.

Finally he said he really had to go. I was really mad that I was only able to waste 45 minutes of his time.

BUT IF EVERYONE DID THIS TO EVERY MCCAIN CANVASSER OR PHONE BANKER we could really make a difference.

BTW, I wasn't wasting my own time, I had already done two shifts for Obama today and was home anyway resting up for some more work tonight.

BTW, my Mom passed away 8 years ago and she was the definitive "Reagan Democrat. But she'd be pretty proud of what I'm doing.

I had McCain canvassers at my house weeks ago. My roomate, boyfriend and I had such a laughing fit that the guy just had to leave.

The other day we had a couple of college kids that were canvassing for Obama. We were polite to them and explained that we were going with a third party. They were nice and we were nice right back. I wished them well. There is no reason to be mean or deceptive because all it does is shows how immature one is.
