I loved the article that Colin Powell brought up on MTP...he even looked a little choked up when he talked about this on Sunday and I even teared up. I think his endorsement speaks volumes throughtout no matter what party you are affilliated with.
The McCain campaign has tried to divide this country more than it already is by generalizing everyone by what region or area you live in....it is really sad.
McCain will talk about how he can "reach across the aisle" to work with others. And yet his entire campaign is based upon dividing Americans from one another. Blacks from whites, Christians from Muslims, small town from cities, educated from uneducated, rich from everyone else, etc. etc. He can not win based upon his own ideas....his only ideas are based on the fact that he and all of his buddies are multi millionaires and they must be protected at all cost. Since he can't win by saying that then he tries to win by divide and conquor. Very sad.
We all need to remember that one of the Freedoms that the troops die defending is religion. How sad and ironic it would be to vote to "protect America" while simultaneously not honoring that Freedom.

Great point cohdane....another irony is that Palin's son is going to Iraq while she only identifies with only one religion and seems really narrow-minded about other people's religious beliefs in my opinion.

Oh Dober, my heart goes out to you. I know the terrors and the sleepless nights you are experiencing. I know what it is like to not want to see anything on the news and yet feel like you have to see everything on the news. I know what it is like to be afraid to answer the phone or the doorbell. I will pray for you and your son. And for all those serving in harms way. I wish that people would understand what mothers go through. I think if they really understood there would be no more wars.
