the majority of this forum, which appears to have a Democratic tilt, oppose raising taxes. At the same time, every reasonable person will concede that Obama and the Democrats are the party who has historically raised taxes despite all the campaign promises and rhetoric.

Why would anybody vote for the candidate and party that is in direct opposition to their position on higher taxes?

Obama will raise your total tax burden. I guarantee it.

I think our tax burden has been raised quite a bit with the last candidate the republicans offered us.

I was wondering the exact same thing you just posted and shaking my head. I think there may be a few Democratic shills on this forum posting under multiple names, who knows.

The tax cuts under mccain's proposed plan are hardly significant for the lower and middle class.

McCain plans to do the same for medicare.

Anyways...the system will always spread the wealth around. There is no way to avoid it. If we didn't have such a large amount of debt as we do now, maybe our taxes could be less.
