They seem to be on rather the same page on the latter.

She goes around calling people commies and whatever else because that is what she has been told to do by her handlers. It's that simple.
She is not making any distinction in her tax policies. McCain wants to lower corporate taxes and they are talking about how our large corporations are overburdened, etc. Compounded with the whole he is a socialist/communist thing and you have the makings of the world's largest hypocrit! I am sorry that she will soon be returning to you, my condolences on that front!

Well the reason is we get told that Alaska is a bastion of pioneer capitalism while all the time it is a huge government run corporation for the most part. And good that the state is getting money out of the situation, but to call foul on socialism as she reaps the benefits of it, is just ludicrous.
I don't think that investment funds qualify as "socialism". What Palin is probably referring to as "socialism" is Obama's plan to tax the more wealthy individuals in the country. That basic difference is why the comparison just doesn't fly.

If the windfall tax had raised your prices at the gas pump there might be a point here.

Are your gas prices going down? I understand that in some parts of the country, it's back under three bucks a gallown. Guess what. The windfall tax is still in effect.

Well since oil is cut in half but the gas is only down a third, we are still well behind what we were two years ago, even a year ago. so we are paying more. I was not talking about the PFD, I was talking about the tax. If Alaska's govt is an owner of a private corporation through shareholdings with voting rights, that is socialism, but I do not know fi that is how that works. But windfall taxes being directly given to the citizens is definetly redistribution. Corporations are actually individuals under the law, so if you tax a corporation, you are simply taxing a lot of small business owners under one name.

Anyway, she is not making that distinction. she is saying taxes that result in any type of redistribution are socialism. But she is also lying because it does not include those without an income and she keeps insisting it does. She scares us way down here in the fake America.

It is not fake America...She is scary on some points for sure, even up here... Alaska was set up to be the way it is many years before she was even a "vision." Please do not judge Alaska on what you see and hear from her....Two different things..., but nothing is perfect anywhere, we have a choice right? not with what we are being given to choose from.....

But you guys elected her! I am not against Alaska. What is being discussed is the portrayal of Gov Palin as a capitalist mogul who refuses federal monies, only supports private business and is name calling and nasty and a downright liar. She supports her story with folksy stories of Alaska, and they are outright lies. So you are getting tarred because she is saying that socialism is evil but you have many socialistic programs in Alaska because of your unique circumstances and that cannot be disputed. But she prances about looking down her nose at all the other states and cities, all the while never having had to meet the challenges of those other states since she has a cash cow in the oil fields.

Uh uh uh uh uh...I did not elect her, I was in MN at that time, remember Jessie Ventura, another scary, but didn't vote for him either....Palin does not refuse federal money...There may be "socialistic-type" programs in AK, but that is all that is here, Alaska decided way before Palin to give something back to the people, but the fact is all the major oil companies in Alaska mad profits after the state taxes or whatever they are....How if the few in AK are getting this windfall, do the oil companies make a profit, and everyone pays, us the most....These companies are not based in AK...look for their home base???? Certainly not here...What do those states get for dealing with them....Notta....
