CNN reports that top officials of Sen. John McCain's campaign are "making tough decisions" as they now see Colorado, New Mexico and Iowa no longer winnable.

Instead, the campaign's "risky strategy" is counting on Florida, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, and a comeback in Pennsylvania.

The McCain campaign responds: "We see the race tightening both internally and in public polling. We are within striking distance in the key battleground states we need to win."

That means he just conceded the election. McCain has to win Colorado if Obama wins New Mexico and Iowa.

According to another thread CNN retracted the statement that Colorado was conceded. Not sure which is accurate but thought I would drop that to ya.

Default McCain concedes Iowa, Colorado & New Mexico

And these states all went to Bush in 2004.

That's not an encouraging development for the McCainiacs.

Mac is not conceding CO, in fact Palin was there yesterday, the same day the erroneous CNN report came out.

Iowa - MAc was there last week. Their polling shows something different than the media-pollsters.

either way Obama is over the 270. Obama would just have to pick up Virginia where he leads by 10 points. The only path to the white house for McCain is the Bradley Effect

For all intents and purposes. Under that scenario Obama can cede VA, and then only keep PA or FL.

In short, Obama/Biden can spend everyday from now until the election in either PA or Florida.

And another way to put that is the only way to the White House for McCain is latent racism.

The McCain campaign is doing all it can to fan those flames right now.

Their problem is that they can't produce any more racists between now and the election. The racists they had last month are the same ones they'll have on election day.
