Bill Gates dropping out of college (Harvard U. of course) isn't an example of anything but that it reinforces the fact that he chose his rich parents well. He dropped out to start a small software company in Albequerque NM, called Micro-soft.

Absolutely. Jimmy Carter, brilliant and intelligent man, but a pretty poor leader. Ronald Reagan, no great intellect by any stretch, yet he turned out to be a great leader.

Sadly for Palin however, she seems to not only be the antithesis of intellect, she also comes across as being very unaware and quite frankly a dullard who is incapable of the level of leadership that should be required for the most powerful single seat on the face of the planet.

like being sneaky on your taxes and getting the state to pay your kids vacation, like getting new expensive clothes on someone's else's bill while claiming to be a down to earth hockey mom.. alright if you are a crook maybe you don't need to be well educated.

Yes, that's true. I didn't know his parents were wealthy, but he did make it on his own. I have read a lot of similar stories in the book titled The Millionaires Mind (something like that). These are self-made millionaires, and not all have an education.

Unlike that genius Joe Biden who tells a prominent Missourian to "stand up and take a bow", problem is the guys in a wheel chair, or the one where he says that Baracks campaign is about a "simple 3 letter word: J.O.B.S" or maybe the one where JB is on the bus with Katie Couric and states that during the depression Truman gave a great speech on television to calm the peoples fears; thing is Truman wasn't president, Roosevelt was and tv wasn't really around yet, hence radio and fireside chats. Or how 'bout most recently when JB throws BO under the bus (maybe it was the one he was in with Katie ) and guarantees and audience in that we (America) will be faced with a major attack, guarantees it, mind you and that we the American people won't initially like BO's response.

Yeah, that Sarah Palin, she's borderline retarded compared to her opponent Joe Biden the mensa member. Kool Aid: now available in liberal media yellow flavor.

Is it possible that the reason why some of you feel that way about Palin is because you haven't known her long enough? After all, she has been on the spotlight for maybe five weeks now (?). Just look at the VP candidate at the other side: he seems bright, smart, a good talker (politician for life), etc., but quite often he sticks his foot in his mouth. He just did that this week.

Lets imagine that something happens to Obama and his VP becomes the new president. He still is an old man, and has had perhaps one or two aneurisms already. McCain is in the same boat, although a little older (?). That leaves Obama and Palin, and nobody can convince me that Obama is more qualified than Palin to be president. He may be "highly intellectual," but to me Palin is smart. Also, look at previous VPs, and you will realize that although very intellectual, several have been as smart as door knobs.

Regardless of the outcome of these elections these are the two most historical facts (whoever wins):

1. A black president
2. A woman vice-president

Ah..you got the facts from a news paper. Lets wait a little and see what the State finds out about and does about this situation. I remember while serving in the military for over 20 years, when I had to file travel vouchers. The military would check the paperwork and then, a while later, would come back to me with the corrections. In the case of Palin, I have no idea since I wasn't there. But I will believe it when it becomes official, not when reading it on a news paper.

If I were to believe that story, I would also believe the Obama's birth certificate thing that's floating around.

No sweat off my brow, I only enjoy Joe Biden because he is the only man I know of in Congress that eats his own shoes on a regular basis. His gaffs are legendary and could be the source of their own comedy show, we all know this.

However, this isn't about Joe Biden, this thread is about the level of intellect Sarah Palin appears to present.

She very well may be reasonably intellectual and aware, but just going by what we have seen of her thus far, it is my opinion that she is wholly unqualified. As proof to this, I only ask that people turn up the sound and look away from their TV the next time she is giving an interview and you can better see what I mean.

It is like the Nixon-Kennedy debate in reverse. If you asked Americans who won that debate, those listening to the radio would have told you that Nixon wiped the floor with Kennedy, but more people watched it on TV and came to a very different conclusion.

I prefer to listen rather than look as it is what they say that is far far more important than how they appear. Now I am just a silly ole hillbilly, but I know clueless when I hear it.

She probably thinks that meetings are a waste of time so she just focuses on getting the job done. Also, she is very inarticulate so I would not be surprised if she avoids meetings. Her public speaking ability is pitiful. She really needs some serious training.

That would not be a problem when she becomes a VP because VPs are hardly on camera.
It would be a problem if she becomes the president of the US. The only way she can survive is to have prepared speeches.

I know Bush is a bit inarticulate also without prepared speeches.
