Why not just cut right to the heart of the matter? Eliminate income taxes completely and force the federal government to do what it is constitutionally bound to do. Allow the states to collect taxes to do what it is constitutionally allowed to do. And let the rest of us keep our money to do what we want. Or is that too simple for people who would rather have you all arguing over who gets your money?

I told him I was going to redistribute his tip to someone that I deemed more in need - the homeless guy outside. He stood there in disbelief and angrily stormed away.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $3 and told him to thank the waiter inside, as I had decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy looked at me in disbelief but seemed grateful.

As I got in my truck, I realized this rather unscientific redistribution experiment had left the homeless guy quite happy for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn.

Well, I guess this redistribution of wealth is going to take a while to catch on with those doing the work.
huh?

I don't know why this is posted several times but I'll tell you the same thing I told someone else:

I understand that you think you were being funny, and maybe I would find it funny too if I wasn't an ex-server. You sound like a real jerk; please know that unfortunately your food has been messed with if this is a common thing for you.

Most servers are college kids, single parents, etc who are struggling to make ends meet. They are usually paid SUBSTANTIALLY less than minimum wage and rely solely on tips for income. When you go to a sit-down restaurant and receive at least average service-you are obligated to tip 15% of the bill.

If you can't afford to tip, or don't out of principle head on over to Taco Bell.
That action makes the rest of us fiscal conservatives look bad.

P.S. if you actually want to help a homeless guy buy him a meal, don't just throw money at him. 9/10 it will be spent on drugs/booze.

edit-P.P.S-seeing now that you plagiarized someone else I want to say that I do agree with your message, but the issues of plagiarizing and rudeness to the waiter distract from the message. For effective communication you must know your audience and get rid of side-issues (like the one I ranted about for multiple paragraphs lol)
