One of the shortest yet most valid responses I've heard all day. I was a chef for 6 years while I worked my way through school. I worked with 95% VERY freakin liberal people. You got it dead on right........"more style then substance." they can never argue facts, it is always emotionally based. It used to drive me nuts!

I think that a lot of people just like to complain for the sake of complaining. And it's become hip to basically hate George W. Bush. I'm not a big fan of his, I did not vote for him either time he ran, and I've had my share of criticism towards him over the years as well.

Being that said this election has opened up my eyes about a lot of things, and has changed a lot of my views for the better. I definitely think it's time for a change as 8 years is enough for any President, but I don't want change for the sake of change, I want the right kind of change. And of the two candidates I believe John McCain will bring the right kind of change.

I'm still not pleased with gas prices right now, and I'm not pleased with the state of the economy, but despite what liberals say I do not believe the blame falls 100% on Bush. And the same problems we are facing right now were just as likely if not more likely to happen had Al Gore been President, and it would not have been entirely his fault either.

It's just easier for people to put the blame entirely on one person, want to run him or her out of town, and replace them with someone who strikes them as being the complete opposite, and hoping for miracles. Bottom line is I agree with the OP, things are not as bad as many are making them out to be. Yes there are problems, but there are also solutions and I want someone with experience to turn things around, not someone who simply talks the talk. Any politician can talk the talk, John McCain & Sarah Palin have both walked the walked, and it was my pleasure as an American to vote for them.

Are you aware of today's median home sales price for single family homes?

It went from $1.60 in 2001 when Bush first took office up to over $4.50 in July 2008.

Only in the past few months the price dropped back to around $3.00, partly due to the recent Economic Crisis.

During the Clinton Years between 1993 - 2000, the price of gas ranged between $1.25 - $1.75.

And you want to know what the "Demmies" are angry about????

Are you serious???
This is typical of the Demmie's ability to debate. You are arguing with emotion.

According to you:

If gas prices rise; If Bush was President; then high gas prices are Bush's fault.

This is a false argument. It is a poor argument. In fact, its not even an argument. Its stupidity. Lets follow your logic flow:

If gas prices rose since 2000; if Hillary was elected to the Senate in 2000; then Hillary is responsible for the increase in gas prices.

Since you're obviously challenged in economic matters, I will help you with why oil and gas prices rose:

So do you think the spike in gas prices between 2001 - 2008 had NOTHING to do with Bush being president?

Just a pure coincidence?

These are all undisputable facts. Since you will focus on discounting the facts rather than a true debate, I'll start with this, and add as needed:

You sound just like McCain and Bush - "The fundamentals of the economy are sound".

So you provided a chart of China's rapid rise of GDP during the past 20 years.

If this China chart is so significant, then wouldn't gas prices also have risen rapidly during the Clinton Years ?

Where's your logic now ???
