Palin gets her Mavericky on today in Tampa
CNN Political Ticker: All politics, all the time - Blogs from CNN.com
Below are comments from the McCain campaign advisor as well as Sarah.....
A senior adviser to John McCain told CNN's Dana Bash that the comments about her wardrobe "were not the remarks we sent to her plane this morning." Palin did not discuss the wardrobe story at her rally in Kissimmee later in the day.
But in Tampa, Palin happily broached the clothing issue after being introduced by "The View" co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who accused Palin's opponents of being "fixated on her wardrobe" and "deliberately sexist."
"Those clothes, they are not my property. Just like the lighting and the staging and everything else that the RNC purchased, I'm not taking them with me. I am back to wearing my own clothes from my favorite consignment shop in Anchorage, Alaska. You'd think — not that I would even have to address the issue because, as Elisabeth is suggesting, the double standard here it's — gosh, we don't even want to waste our time."

Ask her campaign handlers about that. They were the ones who said it wasn't in her approved speech. Democrats loved it. We were hoping she would bring it up in her second speech and hopefully will again tomorrow.

I saw a portion of that on TV this morning and Hasselback was so insipidly stupid that I had to turn it off. If she should leave "The View" it will materially improve that poor show.
Those 2, Palin and Hasselback, set women back 50 years, but that is what Palin's evango-fascist pals want, stupid women who stay home, make babies and cook. That's not why I wore an ERA bracelet 35 years ago as a member of NOW.
Give them all the rope they want; on Nov 4 the trapdoor opens and that snap at the bottom will be heard round the world.

At $150,000 this is not a sexist double standard. It's a valid issue raised to a campaign that has touted itself as the cure-all for frivolous government spending and earmarks.
Can't play the sexism card, sorry.
That said, I'm sure Palin didn't ASK for $150,000 in clothing and based on pictures I've seen, she was no fashion maven prior to this election.
It reflects bad judgment on the part of the campaign and an obvious culture of big spend-first-ask-questions-later philosophy on the part of the campaign staff.
McCain has ownership of this problem.

Nothing like twisting their words or reading more into them than was there. They simply said those weren't "the remarks we sent to her plane this morning." They didn't say she was restricted to only saying what they told her to. Now back on ignore you go...

Frivolous spending like $437,000 spent by Obama with food, along with $550,000 "unknown expenses" and $21 million in advertising?

In 20 months? YES
150K on stylists and clothing in less than 20 days?
More spent on stylist than policy advisors in six weeks?
THERE IS SOMETHING FUNDAMENTALLY WRONG!
