I hope you socialist liberals are proud of doing it, I believe that you liberals are formenting revolution in the USA.
LOL, thank you. Near as I can tell, both Sweden and Norway are socialist countries and yet manage to keep themselves above war mongering and blood in the streets. If socialism is what it takes, bring it on!

And I say this as a working girl, who works with the "outcasts" of society and the thanks are few and far between. Oh, the pay sucks too. And I could be doing something else. Still, I would err on the side of socialism, for the greater good. And, in all honesty, I want to continue to live in my nice neighborhood. Now run with that! I've earned it. But then so has Barack Obama, and he won't be living in any crappy neighborhood. Hmmm, maybe he's really NOT a socialist.

THANK YOU! I don't think it's about race though. He's brilliant, well spoken and will bring this country to a place where, once again, we can become the GREAT AMERICA we once were.

Sigh, Greatday, spewer of stuff. CITE IT! Back it up with a link - and a credible link. And BTW, treat your PRESIDENT with some respect. He's done a helluva LOT better in life than you have. Deal with it. His name is Barack Hussein Obama, NOT Barry.

I did pick that up on the news, although it was mentioned as casually as Bush being on his ranch in Texas.

I was like wtf, how many countries are we getting into, now Syria?

Sorry - didn't think I was implying it's about race, 'cuz it's not (for me, anyway). I saw Obama speak at a conference in Chicago shortly after being elected to the U.S. Senate, and I knew then that if he ever ran for President, he'd have my vote. I think he's terrific, and I would think that no matter what his race.

To me, the really neat thing going on is that, while some people are voting for Obama specifically because he's black (and I can understand that), most of us are voting for Obama for many other reasons totally unrelated to race. Hell, he's black and he's white!

No, it is the type of person he is, and the positions he has taken on issues, and the direction he wants to take this country, that are far more important reasons to vote for him. That such a person has come along with these attributes, and is on the verge of winning the Presidency, and he's black ... well, again, I didn't think I'd see it in my lifetime.

It won't be the end of America. Obama and the Dems are guaranteed to over-reach, they firmly believe that most of the country has "seen the light" and embraced socialism and decadence. The far-left only gets power by pretending to be something it isn't. Remember the Wellstone Memorial? There is so much pent-up anger and rage on the far-left that they will go full speed to take "their" country back, molding and shaping it in their image. The far-left will not be able to contain their euphoria of having nearly unchecked power, and they will likely show their true colors. It will come back to bite them.

Obama will win only because people are fed up with Bush's incompetence in Iraq, out-of-control spending, give-aways to crooks on Wall Street, and the inevitable collapse of the housing bubble; not because they really want the U.S. to become New France.

McCain and the mushy moderates in the Republican party will be discredited, and the party can get back to the basic principles of Reagan Conservatism which won two landslide presidential victories.

It's not all bad, cheer up out there!

I like Obama. I think he's a decent human being and I plan to vote for him. I'm not in love with him, and will still consider myself somewhat of a dissident under an Obama adminstration, as I have been a dissident under every administration in my life. But at least he will be a worthy, intelligent opponent that doesn't fill me with shame at the mere thought that he's leading my country.

Reagan conservatism ain't coming back, the country is too secular (thankfully) and most of our foreign enemies these days are of our own making. If you guys have any brains at all left in your party, you'll orient toward social moderation and the only decent candidate you had in the 2008 primaries, Dr. Paul.
