Looks as though, in her haste to dispel all the talk of her new $150,000 wardrobe, Sarah Palin may have unintentionally caused her "favorite consignment shop in Anchorage, Alaska" to be pressed with a trademark infringement issue:

Quote:
AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the largest AIDS organization in the US and operator of the popular and award winning fundraising 'Out of the Closet' thrift store chain in California and Florida, will host a press teleconference Monday, October 27th at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time to raise the issue of trademark infringement by a for-profit resale clothing store in Anchorage, Alaska recently cited as a favorite by Republican Vice Presidential candidate Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and her family.
...
"We are grateful to Governor Palin for bringing the infringement of AIDS Healthcare Foundation's trademark on our eighteen year-old 'Out of the Closet' name to our attention. In addition to raising funds for the care and treatment of thousands of people with AIDS in the US and around the globe, several AHF 'Out of the Closet' sites also serve as free HIV and STD testing centers. A growing number are now partnered with or placed alongside full service AHF Pharmacy stores, which are open to everyone, but offer clients specific expertise in HIV/AIDS medications. AHF's 'Out of the Closet' chain and our related services at these sites provide the community a unique opportunity to give back. We value our good name and as such, have sent a 'cease and desist' letter to the independent for-profit resale shop operating under our 'Out of the Closet' name in Alaska," said Michael Weinstein, President of AIDS Healthcare Foundation.

Oops.

By the way, it also looks as though AHF will be inviting Palin and the RNC to consider donating the $150,000 campaign wardrobe to AHF's 'Out of the Closet' thrift store chain, since she's already stated that the entire wardrobe will be given to charity. Wonder if they'll accept said invitation?

It's been all over the news that Sarah Palin has been "going rogue" and ignoring advice from McCain campaign aides. I agree that the "clothing issue" is not nearly as important as other issues our country is dealing with right now, but Palin is perpetuating the "clothing talk" by continually bringing it up during her speeches, while insisting that it's ridiculous that everyone keeps bringing it up in the media. I read on CNN that her remarks about her clothing were not written into her scripts and were not the talking points that were sent to her by the McCain camp, and that she was advised against talking about the whole clothing situation by her aides.

Seems as though this legal situation that her favorite consignment shop has now found itself in, is a direct result of the unscripted, unadvised comments that she insisted she make regarding her clothing at recent rallies. Yet again, it appears that Sarah Palin has demonstrated that she puts Sarah first, and does not give much thought to how her actions may affect others in a negative way.

7 more days of mavericky stuff - I am going to miss all this, as will SNL. Ironic that her attempts to put Sarah first are actually exposing her to be the idiot she really is.

Has anyone noticed she's been wearing her own clothes lately? That ugly pink jacket was definitely hers, and so was the purple one I saw today. She also added these tacky breast pins. Wish should would have stuck with the absolutely GORGEOUS clothes and shoes the GOP bought for her. I mean those clothes she's been wearing are HOT! Funny how frumpy her true style really is LOL.
