Anything's possible in politics.

That said, should Obama win, I would not be interested in lording it over the Americans who voted for the candidates who lost. I would be MUCH more worried about the continuation of the politics of fear and dishonesty which led good Americans to believe the most awful untruths about a good man--not a king, not a saint, but a good man. I would like to think that these same Americans would open their minds to the possibility that Obama really is on their side and really will try his best to work on behalf of us all. And I would like to think that McCain would go back to the Senate, prepared to work with Democrats. Or retire. And that Sarah Palin would go back to Alaska and never be seen again.

Same here. I'm more than willing to be gracious if Obama wins. I just hope the same is true of the McCain supporters.

Save your post for after the election. Obama has not won. It's not over till it's over. Doesn't matter what *you* think is going to happen on election day.

But as we enter the final days of this election, please remember what Obama's message is and has been. Regardless of party, we are all Americans. If you spend election night rubbing his victory in the faces of all those who oppose his Presidency, it will only serve to further divide this country into red versus blue. I have hope that this time there will be a change in the way the victors respond. Please don't let us down.

And for the McCain supporters, I honestly don't see how it's mathematically possible for him to win based on current polling projections. I don't have the same hope and faith that you do.

I'm paperhouse, and I approved this message.
Thank you for a refreshing post, paperhouse. I agree with your message; in the end we are all Americans regardless of who we vote for.

If McCain pulls off an upset, I am personally going to be on here rubbing it in the faces of those posters who were the most idiotic and venomous to me. I'll also be consoling those who were decent. But, the most rabid supporters deserve the tortured mental anguish I will try to inflict on them should McCain somehow, albeit by a miracle, pull a rabbit out of the hat.

I will be much more interested in the apology all Obama voters will owe the nation in about 18 months.

Paper, checkout the dumbass post above and the many others like it. It guarantees that there will be some victory rub in because those morons don't deserve anything better.
