I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians, Your Christians are so unlike your Christ
I used this one the other day and was chided rather harshly. However, in all fairness, there are a great number of Christians out there who are no where near this brand of extreme as quoted from the article above.
Quote:
Extreme Christian Nationalists not only believe that the United States was founded as a Christian nation but that its institutions should be run entirely by fundamentalist or evangelical Christians. They believe they have a mandate to purge our institutions of "humanists" who believe that humans are in control of their own destiny, progressive Christians and non-Christians.
In fact, the bulk of Christians I know are more concerned about the spiritual enlightenment and a relationship with God more than purging governmental, educational and business institutions of those who don't share their faith.
At what point can one take the Christian faith so far into a different place that is no longer resembles Christianity anymore? Palin seems to be riding on this train if the article is accurate.
