One problem: I'm not from the left. I'm actually a registered Republican (moderate).

I didn't include one hint of armageddon in my post.

I think you missed my point, but maybe not.

What I mean is there's as much fear-mongering in your OP as the right is usually accused of.

That's what I meant.

And I'm actually a registered Democrat, who's already cast my McVote

You're comparing my fear of Palin to the sewage being thrown at Obama this season? Did I call Palin a terrorist? Did I suggest that she's not Christian? Did I suggest that she's lying about where she was born? Did I suggest that she'll take everyone's paycheck and split it up with homeless people, prostitutes and crack addicts? Did I suggest that she's a Muslim plant who will install a radical Islamic state in Washington? Did I call her a communist?

I'm suggesting as a moderate, I'm worried about what a Palin Vice Presidency might bring. She's far outside the mainstream of even Christianity, and would try to be quite the activist V.P.. Much moreso than past V.P.s (as I see it).

If it doesn't frighten you, fine. It does me. And based on the amount of positive response I've gotten from this thread, others feel the same. Palin's fun to laugh at now. In office? Not funny.

They'll never get over it.

Mommy22, you are incorrect. I did not alter any of Calm Dude's post in any way. On any message board people often use the quote box and answer each individual point either in another color or bold and point out in their post (as I did) how their answers appear. That is what I did and it's entirely appropriate.

FYI, Obama is running for President. Palin is running for VP. I'm always amused when people compare them like they're running for the same office. Palin is more experienced than Obama, she's actually run something which Obama has not. I'm sorry you find this reminder tiring.
I never said you altered a quote, so I am not incorrect. I don't know why you assumed I was talking about you! It was someone else on in the thread, which is why it came first in my post and not after yours or anyone else's quote.

Palin is running for VP, but whether or not she is qualified to be president is definitely relevant. It is always relevant if a VP candidate is qualified to be President, more so if the Pres. candidate is 71 years old.

Of course Obama must be held to a much higher standard than she.

We are just going to have to agree to disagree on this one. Aside from the "experience" issue, don't you worry, he is definitely at a higher standard than she is. I am sorry, I just don't think a person whose educational background includes a bachelor's degree in journalism is all that appealing to be VP of the US. I'd like someone just a bit more educated, among other qualifications. I do admire her determination to get her degree, as she had to go to 4 or 5 different colleges and spent 5 years getting the degree. I don't want someone just like me to be Vice President. Someone being a "hockey" mom or dad even, is not a selling point in my book. Neither is being a pit bull in lipstick. Neither is someone who uses winks and giggles as a method of communication.

When it comes to "sewage", there is no sewage as vile as that which has been thrown out there about Palin and her family.

I can't speak for this entire forum, but I haven't seen or heard many people call Obama a terrorist. However, it has been said that he has associations with terrorists and that is true.

I assumed you were talking about me because you quoted me 3 times in your post and started out "first of all" before quoting me. It would logically follow that you were referring to my response to Calm Dude within the quote box. Had you been referring to another poster, you should address that poster directly which you did not.

I don't know how old you are, but 71 years old is not teetering on the brink of extinction. So put away those fears. And I repeat .... Sarah Palin is more qualified to be President than Barack Obama should she ever need to fill that position. She has leadership experience; Obama does not. He has never managed or lead anything. I would like him to get his feet wet at a lower level before leaping into the presidency. Silly me.

Here's where we differ. I do want someone just like me to be President ... just a little bit smarter with leadership qualities and the ability to take a no nonsense attitude, be able to actually accomplish something and hold people accountable for their actions. Palin does that.

I'm sick to death of politics as usual. It's time for a change all right ... I just don't agree with the change Obama is offering us. It's the polar opposite from the hopes and dreams our founding fathers had for this nation.

elaborate = fear is fear, pick your poison, left or right.

Apologize = you truly are suffering from something other than clear thinking

assume =

moderator comments = what part of my tone was attacking. Fear is fear, isn't it?

It wasn't your tone, it was your words:

And all fear is not equal. I fear that Palin will be horrible for the country, and should not be in a position of power. I'm not stocking up on water and non-perishables because of it.
