OK people. I am calling it a day and heading home from work. I doubt I will check these boards tonight. However, if Nina or findingsomething answers those questions can somebody send me a message so I can see their answers tomorrow. Thanks.

Nina, btw, a change in tax structure is as American as Apple Pie. You really need a lesson in world governements. Please educate yourself in it. Am I a expert in it? Hell no. I only studies social studies issues in highschool, as in college my electives were like religious studies, and other stuff. However, I sure hope anybody with a highschool education knows what socialism fully entitles. It is sad to see that this is not the case.

In all fairness, Alaska has a surplus to spread around, there was no redistribution about that.

I think Nina has me on ignore. Could you please qoute my post with my questions to see if she can answer them. I think she really has no idea what the hell socialism is. Which is pretty sad.

Okay, no insults. You seem to have a mastery of slinging them as well, though. Shame on you.

Obama is no more a socialist than McCain or any other elected official in this country. The concept of government is inherently socialistic. Law and order are inherently socialistic. Governments provide services to the public at large, and to do so they collect taxes. Taxes are the short-name for Redistribution of Wealth. When King John Doe decided to build a road from City of Purple Cows to City of Pink Pigs so that the people of cow could eat bacon, and the people of pig could eat steak, and he took money from the people of both cities and employed people to build that road, some of the people of the kingdom cried socialism! Because those people thought that a diet of eggs and okra were enough. But after that road was built, King John Doe continued to collect taxes, to build hospitals and schools and libraries and museums. Some people still grumbled "socialism", but they were glad to have a hospital to go to when they were sick, and they were glad to be able to educate their children. Government is all about redistributing wealth. All people running for office have some socialist components to their policies. All of them.

Ok, so take the "s" word out of it.

I don't want to work hard for my money and have it go to the welfare mother across the street.

I'd rather decide what to do with my own money.

Is that better?

Yes they do and that's fine. However, the term is what is constantly objected to with no explanation behind it. She used the same term but gets a free pass. We already spread the wealth in this country it's just a matter of whether it goes up or down.

You see, you give yourself away. People who are educated and not racists and who are voting against Obama, are doing so because they disagree--substantively--with where he stands on the issues. They are not voting against Obama because they "don't like Obama" (your words). They do not call him a "socialist," because they agree that would be absurd. They do not accuse him of "palling around with terrorists," because they agree that would be absurd. Usually, they are long-time Republicans, and they still have faith in traditional Republican values and feel a loyalty to their party, as well. Many, however, in this election--including many well-known traditional Republicans--are voting for Obama because they recognize that their party has been hijacked by right-wing extremists who are spouting deplorable hate--both the candidates and their followers--and that their traditional Republican values are no longer being represented.

Why do you think your money will go to the welfare mother? Are you not aware of the limits to receiving aid in most states?

I don't want my tax dollars to fund the illegal invasion of foreign countries. I don't want my tax dollars to be given to large corporations in place of helping Vets receive the proper care they need when they come home.
