Just saw a McCain ad last night: Reverend Wright clip, with him saying "Goddamn America," and a huge pic of Obama, over to the side, looking down on the clip. The words: "He's just too RADICAL. He's just too RISKY" end the ad.
Unbelievably racist crap. Wright's words were taken entirely out of context, of course. Not just the context of the rest of his sermon, but the context of what living in America has been like for a man of Wright's age. If I were black, and had lived to see and experience the institutional and cultural and individual racism that Wright has seen--and the degradation of my community, as a result--I'd probably think "Goddamn America," too. Who do McCain and Palin think they are? Their target is the "uneducated"--after all, their spokesman admitted it. But for them to take advantage of ignorance in order to gain power is repulsive. What they're doing is perpetrating psychological violence on all Americans. Once again, twisting history to propagate racist fear and hate. These people are a national disgrace.

Great point. It's such an obvious thing I can't understand why more don't see this.

You might want to check your facts before your lack of knowledge about this ad. McCain is not behind it at all. It happens to be a 527 group. McCain made it perfectly clear to anyone and everyone in his campaign that they were not use anything to do with Wright. Nice of him but he should since that was Obama's mentor for so many years. Think 527 and stop blaming McCain for everything you dislike in the world. In fact, next time you post seomthing about a commercial, how about doing some research before posting drivel.
