It's heartwarming to see the righties suddenly have so much compassion and caring for their fellow man.

One might think that they had something to gain by suddenly getting all charitable on us, at least for the sake of this argument.

Nawwww, they wouldn't use this woman to get at Obama would they?

Somebody has to question what this man does, because noone from his own party will and neither will the media. I personally know lots of conservatives who care for their fellow man. How many of you lefties on here are currently making weekend trip down to the coast right now to help in rebuilding efforts after the hurricane? I know a group of conservatives who are doing this right as we speak. I know a group who go to help at a local serving center and a few who volunteer at a center that provides free educational materials and holds free classes for parents and does free educational classes for kids. I've volunteered at a few of these things myself. I try and do these things throughout the year, not just at Christmas and Thanksgiving. There are tons of opportunities for just doing neighborly things as well. How many of you do small things every day for someone else? Like mowing a neighbors yard when the person's husband walked out on her and she can't take care of it herself because she's working 2-3 jobs to take care of her kids? Or do you just complain about the mess and write letters to the HOA? What about helping an old lady try to reach something too high at the grocery store that she is obviously having a problem getting?

Obama states in his book about his aunt and uncle and how family steps in in times of crisis and he realized that he was family. Why did he forget that so suddenly? I know all my Aunts and Uncles and where they are. And I know, at least for our family, we do help each other out. We actually get a group together every summer to help relatives who need things done around their houses. I can't believe Obama is that disconnected from his family, especially for all the talk he does extolling it.

I have lots of compassion. When the news of Obama's aunt and his half brother surfaced, I sent in a donation to a charity in Boston that does great work with the disabled living in public housing. I even included a note requestin Aunt Zetunie get the money directly.

And I sent $20 to Bono's ONE organization again with a note about Obama's brother.

I have no idea if he knew where she was living or not. I have a large extended family myself, spread all over the US and Europe. I don't know where they all are or how they're all doing. But I think if I'd mentioned any of them in a book, I'd probably know. That's the part I can't get my mind around.
