Oh, he'll tax all of us. Don't you worry. Bush's cuts will expire, Obama will increase everybody's once the honeymoon's over. We'll all be paying out the nose.

It is what it is.
I supported McCain too, but don't feel any sense of despair about the outcome. It was an uphill battle and he kept it fairly close.

He was going up against an environment where his own party had a popularity rating that was very poor. He couldn't really run against his own party's president, that would appropriately be viewed as disloyal. This gave him the problem of differentiating himself from Bush without appearing to be disloyal, always a difficult task. Add in the economic problems that unfolded a short time before the election, and he had an awful lot to overcome.

However, I do think he could have run a better campaign. I believe he should have come up with 5-10 items that clearly defined him as having a different position than both Bush and Obama, and why his view was better. This never happened, he continually changed his message.

I am not frustrated, just disappointed that so many americans were duped into thinking this guy is on their side. I just cannot believe that so many were willing to look past all the signs of what is to come.

I don't feel bad at all. Life goes on.
I'll be waiting for my handouts.

We should have a thread that says:

OBAMA Supporters: I told you so.

Then list the "I told you so's." while Obama is in office.

The bed has been made. Hope the voters of this country brought some nice pillows with them.
Yes I have no idea how Mccain won the primary. He was not popular with the base. It's the first time I ever voted for the guy, I live in AZ.

I just told my DH that we should go out tomorrow and buy a bunch of **** on credit cards because we wont have to pay for it anyway. Just throw our hands up and say "oh well, I can't make my payments, now pay for my stuff for me"

Only the responsible people will get jacked in Obama Land.

What frustration? McCain should NOT have been the candidate and the only reason there was any sort of excitement was because of Palin.

Before the primaries this guy wasn't even considered a viable candidate.

So can I stop paying my mortage now?

Yep. I just filled my 4 ton SUV full of gas and drove off. I told the attendant to just bill Obama before I pulled out.

I voted McCain though I am critical of both. I've braced myself for an Obama win though and honestly whoever wins really won't effect me too much. I'll probably pay more taxes with Obama as president but apparently it's my patriotic duty anyway so I'm not gonna get into a frenzy about it.

What I am concerned about is people are expecting a LOT from Obama - the whole "change" campaign - and I know he won't be able to deliver. Not b'c I think he is incompetent (though I do think he is inexperienced) but rather this economic crisis is going to take a long, long time to recover, well over a 4-year term. He promised changed when the economy was decent, he promised change before things really went to the crapper and now people are going to hold this promise to him and he hasn't backed down at all - he hasn't admitted that maybe, just maybe, he won't be able to deliver everything he promised. I do not envy the next president, regardless of who wins.

I could be wrong and everything will be back to normal come the new year. I'm no expert, just a spectator, and Obama could end up being a great president, doing great things with a good or bad economy. I am concerned about the whole "socialist ideals" being touted around but I have faith in the United States of America that if things really got to that point, we would do something about it.
