Don't talk about losing wars, American.

Even if we invaded Normandy for France's sake, which we didn't, it could be considered payback for the French bankrolling of the American Revolution which practically bankrupted their country.

Last ones (again, apologies for any bad translation):

Good morning America!!!

This American, this is the one we love. The one that shines on the world, not by its military might, but by its openness, its melting-pot, its all-is-possible, the one who makes us dream! Without denying the diverse difficulties awaiting the new President, but today is a very great day for this great country, a day of hope. Good morning America!!!

A nouveau l'Amérique qu'on aime !

Again, the America we love! Welcome to intelligence, welcome to brotherhood. A new era opens for the entire world.

As a Frenchman who is an Americanophile, I have followed the election from Paris, in an American bar, and I have no words to describe my joy, my hope, my love and my many beautiful feelings for the USA, the American people and all who have contributed to the victory of Obama! This is an historic day, and the stain of slavery finally finds its just response. Thank you for MLK's dream, and Rosa Parks' and so many others', and that Barack offers us in reality! Long live America!

November 4, 2008, the free world has awoken with Barack Obama as the President of the United States. America the Great has returned. Good luck Mr. President!

America resituates itself as the leader of humanity. I have always believed in the amazing source of strength that the Americans give to humanity. Black is black, there is such hope. . . .

The world has changed in the U.S., November 4, 2008 will be forever seared in history. Homage to MLK and to all those who have fought for the cause of Blacks in the world!!

We rise with the sun to a new epoch not only for America but also for the entire world. We would not have believed it six months ago, but the incredible has become a sparkling reality of hope and progress for all of us. Long live America! Long live France!

A funny one:

The worst (Bush) then the best (Obama). The Americans don't swim in tepid water, those guys. . . .

Good night, all!

WE DID IT!!!!!! (((CDF Buddies)))

And we care what you think, why?

Obviously you don't know anything about the French culture.
I get it, you like freedom fries and freedom toast.

Why do you want to base our country on wars?
Wars suck, all of them.
They're fought by the poor and underclasses for the rich.
We've lost the last several we've been in - well, there was Granada.

I don't see you enlisting since war is so very noble to you.

Back to the filter with you, tinman.

Oh, please! The French despise EVERYONE, especially Americans! They don't seem to need a reason. Have you ever been there??? I'm sure most of them are saying Steve-TN's sentiments privately.

Default Oh No!

I'm a GOP'er who is almost at peace w/ a BHO presidency. But if the French are high-fiving I may have to rethink this......

(My day will be filled with sunshine, as is Africa's. I feel enormously happy and sustained by much hope for humanity.)

(This is an historic event for all humanity. Already, the masses are moving towards what seems to them to be the realization of an impossible dream. . . . This is a seismic shift of timeless magnitude. This victory goes far beyond that of a simple election, it's the beginning of a era--The Obamicene. Nothing will change in appearance, because it's the victory of hope.)
How do you say, "up yours, French hippies!" in Frreeeennch? Aren't these the same people who strike if they have a bad hair day, work 36 hour weeks, and have... 54 national holidays (I'm exaggerating, it might be 45)? Those hippies would prefer anyone that promote socialist agendas. Vive la France!!! btw, I actually like the French.
