My candidate didn't win, but even his loss didn't make me cry. I was more happy that it ended in a peaceful night and that we can finally say this is over. Back at it again in 4 years.

I was worried early on, wondering how Virginia was going to go, but once that happened I couldn't stop grinning...and then I would tear up...and then fist pump and get all giddy! I did actually have my eyes water during his acceptance speech...I am so hopeful for our country.

Pretty much how it goes. That's generally what happens when a world leader (the US) elects...ahem...a new leader (Prez). This is especially true when said election occurs during a global economic crisis. Um...duh?
