Of course not. But, the point is, as someone already said in so many words, this is the best proof of all that an African American can become anything they want to if they apply themselves and want it bad enough. This is the best proof of all that Whites aren't out to get Blacks. Their success is our success--and vice versa. We all benefit from people educating themselves and taking responsibility for their own successes and failures.
What a foolish ignorant way to think. As long as racism exists, African Americans will acknowledge it and try to work against it.
The election of President Obama alone, will not eliminate that. Racism is still alive and well and did not disappear over night. All races of people elected Obama into the White House pal.
Get over your obvious bitterness.

Blacks have got most Dems in office but its still racism
Oh puh-lease. Washington state has gone Democrat in every Presidential election since the Regan years. They tend to elect Democrat to Congress as well. Care to guess the percentage of blacks in the population? There are plenty of other states where blacks make up a minority of the population that tend to vote Democrat as well.
The election of Barack Obama as President represents a milestone in race relations in this country, but as much as I like and support Obama, his election does not end racism. If only it were that easy.
But symbolism is important, and for all Americans to see a black face among all the white faces of our Presidents represents the hope that we are starting to get a handle on racism.
I think it was very important for Obama to win decisively, and this he did. Coupled with Hillary's extraordinary performance in the Democratic primary, this sends a clear message of affirmation to all those parents who told their kids that they could be anything they wanted to be, if only they worked hard for it. And it serves to tell all those parents who wanted so much to tell their children they could be anything, but didn't, not wanting to raise hopes they knew based on history could not be met, that they can finally, honestly, tell their children that they too may one day grow up to be President of the United States.
black people cannot cry racism anymore. WHITE people got this guy into the white house.
I guess that means that the KKK and any other white supremecy groups who believe in stoking the fire of racism have shut down with an Obama victory? I guess that means that every person who still harbors feelings of racism had those feelings disappear last night?
If so, then I agree that racisim is done. If not, then its silly to even suggest.

of course racism isn't gone. i meant that they can't say they are being held back by white people anymore and don't have a fair shot. i didn't mean racism is completely gone. i was just trying to keep it short.
As of 10:10 AM EST, racism in America is officially dead.
