It appears that North Carolina is the closest race in the country. They are counting provisional ballots cast by voters whose eligibility to vote must be confirmed. That's a process that could take several days. Currently with 100% of the precincts reporting, it appears that Obama will win North Carolina because he has a 12,000 vote edge over John McCain in North Carolina. provisional ballots tend to favor Barack Obama. But thank God it didnt come down to North Carolina deciding this election.

It is a sad day for North Carolinians everywhere. I thought we were shrewd and had common sense but we have bought into the lies.

That's what I think. I thought it would be a blow out for Obama. Way too close to 50/50 for my tastes. Looks like we still have some work to do in this state. There's no reason Mayberry can't be brought into the 21st century.

North Carolina has been invaded by a lot of outsiders. We are still North Carolina and when we can rid ourselves of these outside influences we will be all right. Unfortunately they lost us two good congress representatives and one who would probably have been governor. We will survive as true Southerners. North Carolina has always been a good state. We have been invaded before and will probably be invaded again.

Here's a newsflash for you. Those outsiders moving in have as much right to vote as you "true Southerners". It takes a little new blood every once in awhile to keep up. Embrace it!
