Why can't some people just give Obama a chance.
Why can't some forum members on here just accept the fact that he won and give him a chance before bashing him to high heaven? Even McCain is giving him a chance. Why can't some of you other guys do the same?

I just hope American's confidence comes back up now that this entire thing is over! Our small business has really declined the last several months--perhaps now, folks will relax a bit and start spending a little more!

For me, I can give him a chance, but I think he has a hard road ahead of him. Not only is he taking over a mess (which McCain would have had too if he had won) BUT he also has some high expectations to fill. People have put him on a pedestal and have acted like he is the Savior to us all. How in the world is he going to live up to that? (Usually when people are put on a pedestal there is only one way to go: down) And another problem I have is people like "Peggy" who think he is going to give them a house, gas for their car, and free healthcare. Many are looking for handouts and that is not what we need. (I personally don't think he will have time to even start a healthcare plan...he has too much of a mess to fix) And I truely believe we will have more government now and that may not be such a good thing.
I wish him luck and hope he does right by us...He just has made so many promises that I don't think he can keep them all. Yes, all politicians make promises that they can't keep, but it is different with Obama. He has taken people who have never voted and many who don't know the issues and got them involved to win his job...A lot of them don't really understand any of the issues. My goodness, the youth voters alone are so uninformed! (I know some are, but the vast majority have no clue and just voted b/c it was the "cool, sexy" thing to do this election...That is thanks to MTV and celebrities!

What do you mean specifically by "give him a chance?" He's been elected, he gets his chance no matter what anyone thinks now. Many don't agree with what he has proposed for the United States, so are you asking them to look the other way? Are you asking them to agree with him because he won?
You can't stifle dissension on either side. We all have a right to our opinion and to be able to express it.
He's got his chance. Its up to him what to do with it. There's nothing we can say to take that chance away so I don't understand what you're asking?

Racism from white people against black people in the #1 problem in the U.S.
Republican hatred as found in all these threads isn't about Obama's experience, judgement, character, or ability to be commander-in-chief
it's because he has darker skin then they do- and their prejudice runs deep

Its a problem for sure, but I doubt its our #1.

There is hatred on both sides in this forum...go look. And there are a lot of posts about his character, his judgement, his experience and his ability to be commander-in chief.

This is a generality and has no validity. Were there people voting because of his skin color? I'm sure there were. Was it all of them? Absolutely not.
He did get elected after all, so your argument holds no water. Not to mention the fact that while about 95% of blacks voted for Obama, not even close to that percent of whites voted for McCain.

Yeah. McCain's rallies were full of diversity. The RNC convention looked like a KKK rally.

Because Dems would not extend the same courtesy if the situation was reversed.
