Yeah, states that generally vote Republican no matter who is running for President surprised the rest of the country by voting--Republican.

I'm freakin' shocked! Will this madness never end?

Try again. This map shows counties that went more republican than 2004. Many of the counties in the Ozarks and Appalachians were blue in 2004 and are now red, and for what reason I ask?

Believe it or not, when the % populating voting stays the same and there's a 5% shift from Republicans to Democrats, there is going to be a net increase in Democrat voters.

Some areas might even buck the trend and vote more Republican.

Statistics are a funny thing.

But I like how you refer to all Republicans as racists. That's real classy.

I'm with you there....I actually think sports, except for P.E., ought to be completely taken out of public education and the focus put back on learning the three Rs. And, of course, computers.

People used to think kids learned positive character traits by participating in sports, and maybe they did when the grown-ups had character, but these days all it consists of is immature coaches cursing and yelling at the kids, emphasis on winning at all costs, false hopes of "making it big" in professional sports (and therefore neglecting to learn important things), etc.

Well, that was off-topic.

Promoting ignorance in defense against ignorance? What a surprise!

Many Arkansans are abhorred with the though of having a man of color in the White House. Racism abounds and its everywhere. Living in the Ft. Smith area, I've heard the N word thrown around like its 1957. People praise certain school districts because they don't have any "coloreds". People complain about Little Rock being a filthy God-forsaken place because that's where "all them blacks" live.

When, if ever, is this state going to move past skin color?
Here is an interesting comparison. Find out how many black people voted for Obama because he was black. Now find out how many white people who voted against him because he was black. Now take both those groups and you can safely pin the racist tag on them all.
