Ron Paul is a very smart guy who has called such things as the current economic collapse etc. The problem is, he's such a bore to listen to just like most people who talk about financial policy accurately..

Hang on tight folks, it's going to get real interesting in the months to come. Obama is nothing more than a hand picked puppet groomed to give the illusion of change.... and people are eating it up... with tears of joy in their eyes.... it's really frightening.

YouTube - Ron Paul on the election of Obama
People say "I don't know Obama"..I never want to know this loon..The guy got no traction in the election for a reason..He's a loon!!!

Quantify what makes him a "loon" in your eyes. Instead of calling names, lets have an adult conversation about the issues you have with him.

That's my take on him as well. He seems quite reasonable on some issues, and simply ridiculous on others.

I don't get libertarians...they are the most doom and gloom people in our political system. Listening to them is actually pretty depressing. They're never happy with the way things are, and everything is an infringement on our liberties. I sometimes think they might as well call themselves anarchists and be done with it.

Ron Paul has some good ideas, but one world government??? Come on...
They do, it is called anarcho-capitalism founded by the Austrian School of Economics. Sheer genius!!

Unfortunately, its true. Ron Paul does bring to mind a high school civics teacher...he lacks the charisma of obama and the fire of mccain. Hell, he even lacks the personability of W.
But, that lack of an 'it factor' does not negate his message, nor does it make him incorrect.

anarchists would be the wrong word, Libertarians believe in limited goverment, anarchists believe in no goverment at all.

They call them Libertarians because they feverently embrace the concept of Liberty--as it is defined in the Constitution. I'm an Independent, not a Libertarian but if I ever had to choose a party, I think I'd go that way.

Another great Libertarian is Jay Severin. He's a former campaign advisor, now turned radio talk show host. You have to get past the ego thing--he thinks he's the greatest thing since sliced bread--but he makes some very astute observations.

McCain never liked Ron Paul.
Paul wanted to endorse McCain from the start.
McCain would nothing of him...
