^^^ Obama considers himself black. If he didn't felt this way, I'm sure he would of told the media a long time ago to say he is biracial.

No one is denying his mixed race heritage.

However, in America, there is the historically imposed "one drop rule". Although people of mixed heritage more readily embrace all of their racial identity OTHERS will still catergorize via the eyeball test.

If someone is half Asian/half Caucasian or half African/half Caucasian etc most people will identify that person based upon what they appear to be.

Most people will look at Obama and classify him as Black because he is not "light" enough to be categorized as "White".

As I replied to an earlier post, anyone of 50/50 mixed Black/White lineage has historically been considered "Black". In fact as codified in law in several states, anyone who is 1/8th "negro" was considered legally "negro". That was according to the LAW.

Yup, and I'm sure back in the days of Jim Crow and segregation, all those white folks would have looked at him and said, "Hey, he's the son of a black person AND a white person. Let's let him sit in either section of the bus."

/sarcasm

To add, anyone of half Asian/half White lineage is still Asian and so and so forth.
