Her Remarks were very nice. She commented on the signifcance on this historic moment as an African-American.

Hopefully Condi, you won't be in danger of being removed from the "list" like Powell was

"As an African-American, I'm especially proud," said Rice, her eyes glistening with emotion, "because this is a country that's been through a long journey, in terms of overcoming wounds and making race" less of a factor in life. "That work is not done, but yesterday was obviously an extraordinary step forward."

Do you think that she is gunning for a position in the Obama cabinet? as others suggested when Powell made his comments?

No, not at all. Condi will go back to academia and stay in the republican party. The party has been great to her. Powell is a loyal soldier first and foremost. He won't leave the party. I don't think he'll go to the Obama administration. He may help with the transition team that gets our people out of Iraq though.

I thought her remarks were heartfelt and touching. I also think that George Bush has been very positive in his response to the election and that he and Laura are really reaching out to make sure that the Obamas transition to the White House and the presidency is smooth. I'm proud that we live in a country where the changing of the guard is handled this way. Look at all the countries in the world where the only way change takes place is through war and bloodshed. America isn't perfect by any means. But we really are blessed in many respects.

I agree with you on Condi ... she is genuinely overjoyed with Barack Obama. As for Wonderboy ... he HAD to do what he did. That smirk on his face told the whole story ... he's just making nice because he has to. I'd imagine that Laura will be much more gracious with Michelle.

People with attitudes like yours is what is wrong with this country. You should look to some of these people who are setting a good, professional example for you and follow it.
