I'll be the first to say it, sticky this post.

Within the first 90 days there will be a tax increase across the board for everyone. Mark my words.

I think you are only partially correct here.

My guess is that he will claim that the economic situation is worse than he was led to believe when a candidate, so more revenue is needed than originally anticipated. At this point, I think he increases taxes for many folks, but I'm guessing he has a threshold in mind of around $80-100K for the beginning of the tax increase. I also suspect he will increase the tax on cap gains, to 20% from the current 15%.

Of course there will be. That's how you pay off a $10 trillion deficit.

He'd better not -- not on me. I'm in the category of getting an over $1000 tax cut and I expect to get it.

Agreed! We can't always rely on countries like China to buy our T-bills and help keep our government afloat!

Most of you have read my tax suggestions. Time to implement them and put the United States on a fiscal diet. Time to pay for the dance.

Yep. I suspect they'll increase the debt before raising taxes...

If that what it takes to get our country back on track then I am all for it. I bit of personal sacrifice to help our country is our duty instead of always "me me me me me first". Its just what two of our greatest presidents asked us to do when they took office - FDR and Lincoln.
