Who would want a traitor in their caucus? The guy was McCain's smiling side puppet for a year. He thought he would be VP so he changed teams and lost..

Throw him overboard and let the republicans save him.

Pork and shellfish will do the trick.
And on Friday night, before sundown, drop him off maybe 10 miles away from Temple so he has to walk.

4 years is a long time.

If the next 4 years are a disaster, then yes. If the next 4 years turn out well or at least progress is being made, expect Joe back in there - and do not expect him to embrace the next Republican.

The reactions of Dems to his behavior, compared on average to the Republicans' reactions to Powell, Hagel, or any of the other folks, has been relatively calm. (Only relatively, mind you.)

Poll shows the majority vote to throw him in the broom closet.

Hmmm...and they said that you Democrats were the Party of Tolerance....I guess that tolerance only applies to those who share your views....but wait, then that isn't really tolerance is it?

I'm so confused. Tell me again, what does the Democratic Party stand for?

Tolerance is like socialist a word that is thrown around so much it has no meaning. If you had sheep would you let a wolf hang out with them? Lieberman doesn't just disagree with Democrats he openly supports the other party! You might as well wonder why the Democrats don't elect Ted Stevens as the majority leader. Lieberman isn't even a Democrat, he is a member of the "Lieberman for Connecticut" Party. Why should the Democrats allow him to have a position of power? It just gives him a bigger stage to attack Obama. What would be the advantage to that?

Option 5) respect his opinion and let him go, since he still votes your way anyway, and punishing him will just make you look like vindictive aholes. Have some skin on your back and let it go.

It would only make Democrats look like "vindictive aholes" to Republicans who like seeing someone attacking Democrats. He openly supported the other party's Presidential candidate. He said terrible things about Barack Obama. Again, what is the advantage to the Democrats of keeping him in a position of power? There is none.

What's the advantage of punishing a guy (even if he's "in a position of power") that typically votes your way anyway? It's not about changing the vote, it's just about getting some revenge. Getting revenge is why there's all this partisanship to begin with, which is stupid. It just keeps holding people back, but if that's your thing, then good for you I guess.

PS - I supported Obama and am far more centrist democrat or republican than far right republican or far left demo. Essentially on of those "independants" that broke Obama's way. But not everyone plays partisan politics and supports their team regardless of what's happening. Some people don't blindly follow others and use critical thought to make their own decisions. But nice try anyway...

He should be stripped of his chairmanship for the simple fact that he did more than just endorse McCain but he campaigned for him & took some nasty shots @ Obama....
