Obama is for Obama. He got what he wanted and that's likely all that matters to him. I really don't think he considers himself the standard-bearer for blacks in politics.
Besides, your theory is shot full of holes when one considers Mayors Marion Barry, Kwame Whats-his-face, Rep. Al Sharpton, and the gang. It doesn't appear that they were all that concerned about paving the way for black politicians. Skin color is NOT a predictor for politicial success.
Americans have a LONG memory. They will remember what Bush did to this country and THAT is what will do in the Repubs for YEARS to come. No race card will need to be played.
Your own posting contradicts your own posting.
LONG memory, and then what Bush did to the country? I see you forgot all about the prosperity this country enjoyed for 6 years...

You have to be joking.... Americans remember only what's in their email accounts....
I thought you guys would be done with the race card now that he has been elected? Sorry, you can only play that card once for this guy or any other.
If BO succeeds or fails it will not be because of his race. He was elected and his race was a factor that benefited him to that end but it is not enough to sustain him. He will actually have to do something now.
Obama will be judged by what he can accomplish, not his skin color. He made some pretty hard to meet campaign promises ( i.e.taxes increased only on people making 250K) that will be difficult to attain. He also made some attestations to his character (will transcend traditional politics, will transcend race) that will also be hard to meet. He and his campaign set the bar pretty high, so we'll see if he can reach it or not.
Most people will judge obama by his deeds in office. And most people realize that for our country to succeed some unpopular decisions will have to be made.
Nonetheless, I feel sorry for the guy. I think that if he cuts entitlements he just may get the same treatment that was meted out to Thomas, Rice and Powell (and many, many black conservatives)....he will be called a house n_____ or an Uncle Tom by the self professed black community organizers and/or pundits. If he fails there will be nonblack racists (whites are not the only anti black racists out there, y'know) who will immediatly say it is because he is a black man. Truly the guy is between a rock and a hard place.
I do believe that Obama is a man of strength and conviction and will rise to the challenges, especially if he picks a brilliant cabinet. I don't think he will let what idiots say sway him in the least. It is just a damn shame that idiots are out there --- and in every color and political bent.
I ask this because I do know some people that didn't vote for him because of his skin color. Me-I cried tears of joy when he won.....I was the only one of my friends that voted for him and NO ONE wants to talk to me about him.....I do have faith in him...I was just wondering though...if he doesn't do good, the people out there will be like, see I told you not to vote for a black President...you know, the I told you so card.
the people out there will be like, see I told you not to vote for a black President...you know, the I told you so card.
There might be a few aholes that say that (just like many say stuff about Bush from out in left wing), but most of us here would say.. See, I told you not to vote for a socialist, told you his tax policies were a failure, told you that his policies would make things worse.. Race wouldnt even be a thought
Some will judge him based upon the color of his skin. I dare say more people voted for him because of the color of his skin than voted against him because of the color of his skin. Both cases are wrong. I didn't vote for him because of his many questionable associations and his socialist policies.
If you still believe Barack Obama is a "socialist," I feel sorry for you.
It took 8 years for Bush to push this country into the rut it is in, its going to take atleast 4 years to get us out right? Just being honest....
I don't think the people experienced being in a rut from 2001-2005/6 of the Bush Admin. People were buying homes and selling them and getting very rich during this period.
The Democrats are at fault!!!
Clinton administration's "BANK AFFIRMATIVE ACTION" They forced banks to make BAD LOANS
Don't insult until after you educate yourself. The twisted third-world US media does not tell you everything. You have to do your own research to get to the truth.
Obama just brainwashed people into thinking it was a bad 8 years when in fact only the last 2 years were bad 2007-2008.
